Sorry to bring up another Webber thread, but with the trading deadline so close I think it's worth mentioning that what happens with Mutombo in the next 24 hours can have a significant bearing on where Webber goes in the summer. If Mutombo goes to New York, I doubt they would really have a shot at getting Webber, even if he wants to be there (short of him signing for an exception). This is because NY will have already used its valuable commodities in Houston and Camby (I'll take a stab and say that will be the deal...NY's been trying to play hardball and sluff off Rice but I don't think that will get it done). And don't even mention LJ--that guy is a Knick for life...absolutely nobody will take on that contract. So, being that, at least in my mind, NY is Webber's first choice, and the Rockets are probably second, if NY deals for Mutombo then I think the Rockets have CWebb in the bag. ------------------ P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
I doubt if anything happens. New York doesn't want to deal Houston, Sprewell, or Camby. That's just stingy. ------------------ Don't look at the feet
I think the CWebb circus is going to be worse than the Duncan, Hill, and TMac festival. It's going to be long, sickening, and mercenary, and we're all going to tear our hair out no matter what happens. Nothing is certain. We have a chance though, at least . ------------------ Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak? PS. Notre Dame sucks
Trading deadlines use to be fun beacause teams would actually make trades. Now its just hype from the media. I remember last year the only player that was traded was Anthony Johnson. I don't think he is in the NBA anymore. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
I would like to see Seattle dump Gary Payton just to insure they don't threaten us anymore in the playoff race. ------------------ Don't look at the feet
I think the Sixers made a huge mistake. Maybe they just don't care about winning after this year... but Deke might bolt, and he's old, and Ratliff was one of the best young defensive players out there. If they don't win it all, this will go down as one of the worst trades in history. Of course... I halfway wonder if the Sixers know something about Ratliff's injury that the rest of us don't. Could this be another Sirotka-Wells fiasco in the making? I would think that the Hawks would be careful... but ya never know. ------------------ Why is it that everytime BC defeats a major conference opponent, that opponent promptly goes on a losing streak? That was before the trade happend smarty. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Well, bottom line here is...Webber will be a Knick next year, I really believe that. He wants to be there, and the Knicks can give the Kings much more than the Rockets can in a sign and trade deal now that they still have Camby and Houston and Rice. Now, say they trade for a point guard, that might change things, but in general I think we need to re-focus our efforts in free agency elsewhere. ------------------ P.S.
