We stopped rebounding in the fourth quarter. Yao was often the only one under the basket, and we basically let the offensive boards get away from us. Yao would shoot a jumpshot and run off leaving 4 Utah players and Juwan under the basket.

I don't really understand it, we were dominating them in the 3rd quarter when we got after the boards, but we completely went away from that in the 4th.

    When Mcgrady attacks, we win.

Him getting into the lane affects the game in SO many ways. Our offensive rebounding improves, he creates easier looks for other players, he gets to the line, he gets the other teams players into foul trouble and he scores. I have no idea what he was doing tonight, but we need him to play better.

Derek fisher and Gordon Giricek have no business guarding mcgrady.

    I'm just quoting JVG.

And no, when Tmac attacks we do not win. When he drives and doesn't get foul calls, but misses the layups, we lose.

but he does get calls, and it sets up Yao to rebound and flush it.

    Watch the Lakers game again.

But if we had gotten the rebounds off those misses, we usually make the putbacks.

You are both right. The Rox gave up too many second chance points to offensive rebounds and the outside shooting (esp from the three point line) was atrocious. I swear I think I could pull a few ringers form the YMCA that could hit more outside shots than Rafer. Such a glaring weakness. With Yao dominating the way he has been the shots are so freakin' wide opne and no one can step up and hit them. If we are remotely hot from the outside we win this going away. It's not like the Jazz defended the three point arc well or anything.

yeah seriously reb is crucial but look at how badly boozer is already limited in this game compared to his avg. Milsap got few good ones before half but 2nd half he didn't get that much reb too. I still dont know how did jazz win a grinding game with rockets and a big factor is failing to make shots and poor execution offensively

Even if he does get calls, he is a really shaky FT shooter. Do we even want him at the line? I'd rather him make the layup if he's going to miss the FTs.

He does need to attack though...

raise up and THROW IT DOWN in the playoffs t-mac...
