With Detroit playing hardball, it makes sense to play-out the best possible options for the Rocks. So, that being said, lets assume we have only two picks - #13 and #22. With those two picks who do the Rocks grab? Do we go for help at two positions or solidify one for several years to come....

    eg.
    Two Positions:
    Jefferson
    K. Johnson

    One Position:
    Jefferson
    Wallace

A couple of other questions to throw in the mix.....

If White is available at #13, which I doubt, do you grab him instead of Jefferson and play White at SF since he is a tweener (and we all know how Rudy loves tweeners).

Do you take Cisse over K. Johnson since he is much more versitile than Johnson and can play at a similar level of defensive specialty? It would seem as though Cisse offers much more upside.

    Jefferson
    Cisse

    White
Wallace (Jefferson will definately be gone by #22)

    White
    Cisse

If we are able to swing something with the Griz, then what????

    White, Chandler, Diop

    Thoughts????

Though hard to believe, Carmen Electra and Pam Anderson were actually virgins.......ONCE!

If we only have two picks and Rudy T really think that they will get C-Webb in here then I would like to see them grab someone to play next to him in the post.

Some have suggested that Woods could fall to the end of the lottery or even beyond. I think he would be my pick at 13. If he does not make it that far then I we would need to find out how far Haywood will drop. If we could get Haywood with the 22nd pick then I would concentrate on a 3 with the 13th pick, maybe Jefferson or Johnson if one of them are there.

If Woods, Jefferson or Johnson are already off the board at 13 I might try trading down in the first to get an extra pick maybe early in the second so we could have a shot at Haywood, Cisse or Wallace (if he is there at 22) and Morris if he falls to the second.

Almost too many scenarios to imagine. Bottom line top priority is a 5 and then a 3 IMO.

    13th Woods
    22nd Cisse

or if we end up with all three

    13th Woods
    18th Cisse
    22nd Morris

I origanally thought it would be Johnson, Haywood and Cisse but it is starting to look like Johnson will be off the board by 13.

    5. Woods / Collier / Cato
    4. Webber / Thomas / Cisse
    3. Morris / Langhi / Cisse
    2. Mobes / Francis
    1. Francis / Mooche

If Woods could come in and be as somewhat as effective as a young Sampson or Robinson then we would have something with that lineup.

    crash5179,

I don't know. It would seem to me that the zone almost negates the need for and "extraodinary" big man. I really think it essential that we walk away with a quality three.

As much as I hate to say this, the zone makes Cato almost, again almost serviceable.

Clearly, the best of both worlds would be to package Cato up with other picks and move on up to the east side to a deluxe apt. in the sky.

Unfortunately, our best bet is with Memphis and that depends on the Magic's cooperation.

Still a three is an absolute must in my book. A five could be any number of options.
Remeber, a zone elevates the need for capable outsiders that can slash to the basket or create off the dribble.

    gone like Reagan's memeory....

Here are my top 2 scenarios for just having the 2 picks w/out trading:

    #13- Jefferson #22- Johnson
And if Jefferson is gone at 13...
    #13- Woods #22- Morris

And if we do make a trade to move up:

#13 & #22 to Memphis for #6...Select Battier or Diop if Battier is gone

    or #13 & #22 to NJ for #7...same selection.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta is willing to make a trade. They have fairly solid players at most positions.

Now saw off...there's nothing to see here.

I think we should go for:

#13: Pau Gasol if available still, otherwise I think we should go for Richard Jefferson due to his extreme athleticism at the SF position.

#22 Cisse because of his potential and size

    To all,
The more I hear and read about Cisse, the more I affirm the upside this guy brings to the table.

I remember a not so experienced African gentleman that turned out to be a franchise savior. He was smaller than normally asked for at his position. I think he is now one of the 50 greatest ever if I recall correctly.

From the word on the street, Cisse is of the same mold. Not the exact height one would want, but goodness, the ability at defense at such a young age, clearly able to roam the entire front line. This sounds earily similar to that same young stud that came in so many years ago with a swatting defensive presence and an offensive game that developed over the years to an unstoppable dominance.

    Lil Francis,
Again, only two picks in this thread. We cannot assume we are going to have Orlando's benevolence granted upon us. Hence the question, "Which position/positions do we draft to fill?" Do we go all SF or hole-up two needs.

Again, the more I look at the team, given next years defensive mandate, the more I like the idea of grabbing a high quality SF and a SF/PF tweener like Cisse or White (#13- yea right, White at #13 - good luck!).

    Jefferson
    Cisse

    White
    Wallace

Either combo and I walk away from this years draft knowing it to be one of the best in Rocks history besides of course the ALargeOne draft.

No way Pau Gasol, his numbers are really bad against european players. Just remember our previous TURKEY, who the scouts were high on. If I remember correctly his numbers were alot better than Gasols, and after 2 years in the league and 3 teams he only managed to get 90 minutes of playing time between all three.

As far as webber, no way he stays in the western conference (unless with Sac.), if you were him would you rather sign the minimun with Orlando and go to the finals almost every year or stay in the Western Conference and pray you might get their once in your career.

I think it is safe for Rudy to try to keep Maurice for minimal money, go after M. Jackson or Antonio Davis, and keep some money for next year when there will be loads of free agent talent.

    I say #13 - Jefferson
    #22 - K. Johnson

and if we get #18 - get best center available.

Barbourdg, I agree. I think the Rockets should go after Antonio Davis and resign Mo Taylor, rather than C-Webb. They might not even get C-Webb if they do go after him and then Mo Taylor might sign with another team in the process.
