Personally, Wade reminds me of Steve Francis, but he's less selfish. Hinrich, on the other hand, reminds me of a young John Stockton.

Yeah. Tmac wanted to come here, and we had tradeable assets.

Point of thread is to see if we like Wade better or Hinrich better. :) ... Maybe I should post it in the NBA forum. I don't mind if it's moved.

If we have a chance, who do you want? Duncan or KG. Explain.

You never know. Next year, we might draft an AK47/Boozer/Arenas type of player late in the draft. Or the Benchwarmoulis spaniard pg might turn out to be good. Or Boki becomes the next Ginobli. Or Yao got cloned by the Chinese government and both are sent to us... They might be able to be moved. We can only hope though.

I picked Hinrich because he's white.;)

But seriously, this one's a tough call. Wade's an olympian already because a comittee of basketball minds picked him over the likes of Hinrich (and Steve Francis, mind you). You could argue that they went with Wade because of marketability in that he's a flashier player that will impress more, globally speaking. You could also make the case that they were simply impressed by his little burst of performances that were fresh on their minds because he lucked out and had his best stretch at the end of the season. But that would also present an argument in his favor: he played his best ball in the vital stretch run and playoffs. Clutchness = Greatness. Barkley and Malone will always be considered among the best power forwards ever, but when it's said and done, Tim Duncan and his 1.5 rings will leave a legacy of greatness and ultimately be regarded higher than the aforementioned two.

So, head-to-head, straight up; you can already guess I'd go with Wade.

But if picking one to play for the Rockets, I'd definitely go with Hinrich.

In JVG's system, Hinrich. Anywhere else, Wade: he's Francis-lite (and Francis/Wade are fun players to watch).

The Olympic vote means nothing b/c Stu Jackson vs Steve Francis.

Even though Wade is considered a combo guard, if i am grading them as point guards, Hinrich easy. He is the truer 1 of the two. No pun intended

Dwayne Wade easily. Hinrich has shown he's a solid player but I don't know if he'll even become an all-star. Dwayne Wade has all-star written all over his game. He played really well in the regular season. He's incredibly quick and athletic, probably more so than any other young player in the league. On top of that he has a good jumper. Then in the playoffs he was really clutch and single handly kept the Heat in contention to upset the Pacers.

Please. These John Stockton comparisons have got to stop. I'm not a fan of JS, but Kirk Hinrich had 6.8 assists in 36 minutes. He also scored 12.0 ppg on 39% shooting. He's clearly passing because he can't shoot!

For comparison, in John's rookie year, he shot .471 and had 5.1 assists in 18 minutes per game.

I'd take DW - at least he has trade value if you decide you don't want him.

It's easy choice. We don't need another star. Hinrich provides solid outside shooting, ball handling, defense that the Rockets solely need at 1. Wade is nice, but Yao and TMac are way better, and I don't want Wade to take away shots from Yao or Mac.

Kirk is, and has been a very good shooter with great range. We have seen what he did at Kansas since his sophomore year. He started last season slow because of illness. If you take out his stats from his first 10 games, it looks much better.

simple as this: when Hinrich gets into the playoffs, and produces, it's him. Until then, I'll go with the rook that basically carried his whole team in the playoffs last year.

Hinrich probally fits what we need more, but Wade is the superior athlete. Wade amazed me so many times when I watched him play but so did Hinrich. In the end because of what the rockets need, i go with hinrich.
