Will the diehards start talking again? The one thing I would have to bring up to those that would undoubtedly come storming back (McHale>>>>Adelman, K-Mart for prez, Parsons for ROY!!!), I would have to bring them back down to earth with this: For the rest of January, the Rockets play one game on the road (against Adelman and the T-Wolves), and one game against a team currently above .500 (the road-weary Spurs). In addition, they only play one true back to back. While I don't expect them to win every game this month, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me. Just don't freak out if they do. I'm not on either side of the trade/tank fence, I like to just sit back and wait it out. And, just like everyone else on this thread, I like to (attempt to) persuade others to see my point of view.
We've won 4 out of 5. The one loss was the one at SA in overtime. This team is developing some chemistry. Dalembert's emergence is helping immensely.
I truly hope so, don't misunderstand me. I'm not a negative-nancy. I just want to point out the schedule. I'm stoked for this stretch of games!
Rockets had toughest ten game start of the season among all NBA teams. It was time for the schedule to ease up. If you were not here pointing out not to panick during the tough stretches of the season don't tell people not to get excited over winning during the easy parts of the schedule.
they'd be alot better off once the bench finally gets it together and finally contribute. Once they mesh together, the rockets could potentially become a dangerous squad (ie. Nuggets).
Going 8-0 will take for the bench to come in and give more support than what they have currently been doing. What happen to the deep bench? PPat, Budinger, TWill, Dragic, Hill, Lee(excuse because of injury), Hasheem. I hope they can wake up and start playing with the energy that is needed off the bench like Parsons.
MChale is > than Adelman. Before the season started many were talking about how strong the Wolves were and how much they are loaded with talent. Well its more than 10 games in and the Wolves are sitting at 4-8 despite having "franchise" stars in Rubio and Love. All the little stuff which drove me crazy last season are still there, there's still the weird ass subsitutions, the lack of execution out of timeouts, the losses at OT and most of all, his "pet" has gone from Aaron brooks to Wes Johnson, who has been garbage all season long. With this team, the only goal I'm concerned about is building chemistry and getting players back into the groove in time for the playoffs. I've always felt that the Rockets were better than what their record suggested, and now that the 10 games are behind us it seems the team is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Regardless of what we do it is going to be very hard for us to make the playoffs. We aren't better than teams like Denver or Portland and then you have the big five in Dallas, Lakers, Clippers, Spurs and Thunder that are locks for the playoffs minus two serious injuries to two of their top players. We will be able to battle teams like Utah and the Grizz for the 8th spot but that is pretty much the best we can get. At the end of the day we are battling to be the same level team that we have been over the past 2-3 seasons.
First round exit. That is what this team is destined for. It is what we will do this year, and the year after, and the year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that. Maybe one of those years, we make it to the conference semi's. But we'll never be a serious contender. Not without a super star. Lowry is great. Don't get me wrong. But he is not a superstar. This team just needed to take this short season and suck for 4 months. That's it. 4 months. And we could have gotten a high draft pick to try to do something with.
