If we can't make the playoffs, do you root for the other team?

It's kind of an awkward question, because it's a win-lose situation. At this point I don't think I make a big deal out of it if the rocks lose, but I still think there could be a chance to make a run for the playoffs, if we stay healthy and a key member of a western team is injured.

I always want them to win. Tanking is moronic.

I have never rooted for an opposing team to beat the Rockets.

I'm going to be completely honest...intellectually, once this year seemed an unrealistic possibility, I started hoping the Rockets would lose in an overall sense...Sort of like, " well, if only we could lose most games, and end up with a top 3 pick..." etc...

the problem is, that's in theory, and only in my head...When each game rolls around, the heart starts pumping, and I'm rooting to win with each shot ( I was going to say with each dribble, but with Mooch on the roster, I thought that would stretch credibility a little too far, not to mention my heart...), and I'm pissed as hell after a bad decision/shot/turnover etc., and when we lose I'm angry until I realise that...well...it's what I want. Sort of....it's as if I'm always saying " Ok, if only we could lose every OTHER game, just not THIS one..."

Anyway, I still THINK that this is our last shot at a guy like Ming, and that he might make us a legit threat to the likes of the Lakers in the coming years, so I still want us to lose every game....except maybe tomorrow's game...yeah, every game after the next one ought to do it....Well, maybe every game after the next two.....

It really sucks when you root root root for that last Rocket shot to go down and when it does not, you lay there on the couch and say aloud, "oh well, I guess we are one more ping pong ball closer to Yao Ming!" Man, that sucks!

Really, it is the best of both World...Losing is never justifiable...but when you do lose and move on step closer to Yao Ming, you can always justify not winning or something like that........Damn, I sound like Kenny Smith now...
