I don't know about anyone else but JVG is sounding very burned out and he is starting to blame the players for losses. Given the recent quotes he has given the media makes me believe that he may be shutting down. If he cannot get his best players motivated this has got to be very disheartening for him. Very reminiscent in my opinion to the year he quit on the Knicks halfway through the season sighting that he was basically not able to bring his best to the table as a coach. In my mind something seems odd. About a week ago we hear that he and Carrol Dawson are at odds (which of course being the professionals they are, they deny) and now he is calling out his own team. I can say that I of the school of thought that when you are in charge of a team, or if you are a manager at work you take responsibilty for things. I am a manager of a goup at my office and if things do not get done, I am not sitting there blaming my people for it. I make my own adjustments as I need to with personnel, but the reason that you are in charge is to make sure that things get done, not spread blame. Just an opinion.

Now that being said, if he does quit, who are the options. Love him or hate him, I really think Phil Jackson is utterly wasting his time in LA for the sake of Kobe trying to prove to the world that he can win a championship without Shaq. Of course Jordan did not have a teammate as dominant as Shaq so obviously Kobe feels that he has something to prove. Phil is wasting his time, and I was hoping that someone new what his contract situation is with the Lakers. Also what happens if JVG quits, what would be the next move?

Let him go. Boo JVG on his last game. And I dont care who replaces him at this point. Cant be any worse than him.

Its not like we are going to fire a legendary coach or something. JVG has NEVER won a ring. Our goal is to win a ring. NEXT!

You think you've got a bitter coach now? Just wait till Larry Brown gets here... he'll be exactly as sour as JVG is in public, except he'll do it in practices as well (which JVG, according to all published reports, does NOT do... which contributes to the reason why his players are so damn loyal to him despite how he's percieved by fans).

Also, he'll cut such "beloved" guys like Chuck Hayes in favor of players with actual NBA experience... and we all know that whoever doesn't play Hayes must be the world's dumbest coach.

Hey, I didn't say I didn't want him... I just said all the reasons why you guys don't like JVG (he's always negative, he doesn't play "favorites", he's stubborn with his ways) will be MULTIPLIED BY 50 when Larry Brown comes along.

Hell, he's wanted his way so badly, he's had to leave teams multiple times just to get it... he's a damn good coach, but he also wears out his welcome (as JVG has seemed to have done here) just as much.

I think Mario Elie would be a great coach.

The only three coaches I would seriously consider if JVG quit would be.

    1. Phil Jackson
    2. Del Harris
    3. Dunleavy

    4. Michael Jordan. He has a history for developing big men and making stellar personel moves. Wasn't he instrumental in the development of Kwame Brown? Maybe MJ could do for us what he did for the Wiz.

In all seriousness, what could he do Van Dummy hasn't done already.

    My choices
    1)Jackson
    2)Brown
    3)Rudy T
    4)Kenny Smith

Yes i said kenny smith. Point Guards are the best coaches. He knows Houston and loves it. Ill take any of those four in a heartbeat, oh and Avery Johnson i loved his attitude at the all star practice.

I did not support JVG originally being hired. I do suppport and respect him now. I do take my shots at him occasionally when I think he slows the game pace down. Screaming at Luther Head to shoot less after making 6 points I did not like.

I support him now. I will not lose sleep if he leaves.

    I hope he stays.
If he leaves I would like to see Mario Elie or Mike Dunleavy come here.

Let CD retire and hire Kiki Vanderwegh

If JVG quits, wow, what will i do to celebrate.

DOnt worry about replacements, whoever it is, they will take us farther than JVG, thats for sure.

God, if you make JVG quit, i will bury myself alive for you.

I think that the only coach who could bring winning here is coaching Denver right now. He and Pop are top coaches in NBA in my opinion..
