....it's Phil and Kobe. If there's a team that can choke after being up 3-0, it's the Dallas Mavericks. LA may not win this series, but I fully expect them to get up off the deck Sunday and punch Dallas in the teeth. Phil, Kobe, Artest, Odom, Fish...those guys are all "knife fighters" as Jeff Van Gundy used to always say. I'll be totally shocked if they fold. Jalen Rose, take your 98-0 and put it where the sun don't shine. Oh a side note.....look for a Matt Barnes ejection Sunday.
Ever since that horrible Game 4 collapse against Portland in the first round, this Mavericks team has grown some formidable teeth. I look for them to come out strong and get the sweep.
If they're such tough "knife fighters," why did they stand around helplessly watching three times in a row as Dallas whooped their ass in the fourth quarter of a winnable game?
The only thing I agree with is either Artest, Odom, Barnes, Fisher or Bynum committing a flagrant foul at some point. This Laker team is broken. Neither Phil nor Kobe are what they used to be. And who gives a care about "knife fighters"? If Pau plays like a sissy again on Sunday, this is a sweep. It takes Pau playing well for the Lakers to be an elite team. He is the key, not knives.
I'm not a fan of either team. I'm just saying what I feel about this series and the basketball character of these two teams. Bash on.
As much as it kills me to say this, I'm sick of seeing the Lakers in the finals, and I grew up watching Kidd with the Nets. I think I'm going to throw up a little bit, I hope the Mavs win. But... like the OP said, this is probably the one team you can't count out till there done. If by some crazy act of God, the Lakers do win the series, I don't think they're going to go much farther. They'd have to go seven in this, and then play against either a young and surging grizzlies or the same young team that took them to 7 last year. They'll be gassed.
I hope the Lakers can pull an epic come back and pull this game to a 7 game series. Then by game 7, it really doesn't matter who wins as long as either the Lakers/Dallas are both totally worn out by the WCF... and inevitably gets swept by OKC.
those guys are done. maybe they win one, maybe even the next when they get back to LA. but they aren't winning the series. that's for sure.
