If the Rockets win the title will this go down as a greater run than 95?

If we win the title that means we beat the Jazz (hated), Mavs (hated) and maybe the Spurs (hated)

That would be the Rockets THREE main rivals over the past ten-fifteen years. While we thought nothing would compare to 95 all three of these teams would have over 50 wins (like 95) and to top it off we might play Shaq (on a florida team) in the finals.

Dream gets him coming in and Yao gets him going out!

What do y'all think does it have a chance to be greater than 95?

Nothing will ever top '95. Greatest playoff run ever.

it depends on how this team would win it.

if they won more road games than any other championship team (beating our old rockets record) then maybe. if they won more game 7's then maybe. if they won more elimination games than maybe. if they had more 4th quarter come backs...

the thing is, that team had EVERYthing against them and they found a way to win. pure heart.

Phoenix is gonna draw the surging Warriors in round one. Mark my words. Suns out in the first round cause the Warriors will smoke them.

We'd have to see how it goes down, but it's hard to think that we'd outdo that postseason.

The Drexler trade, the Maxwell drama, the Kiss of Death, Horry shutting down Barkley, Dream turning Robinson into a popcorn machine (the most vicious abuse in the playoffs ever), ending Nick Anderson's career, the tip in to go to OT, the broomsticks.

    That's a tall f***ing order.

If the Rockets are down 3-1 against Dallas in the second round and manage to come back and win the NBA title, then probably yes.

Emotionally it will be very hard to surpass the comeback against Phoenix in 95.

But I have a good feeling so I voted yes.

    Oh hell NO!

Anybody who answers "Yes" to this poll does not have a good recollection of the 1995 playoff run. That memory is forever burned into my head (and the DVD's of the games in my colletcion).

I voted yes, but the more I think about it, the more I'm not sure. Obviously, it would be great because of all the injuries we've had for the past 2 years and the Bonzi drama and the fact that everyone (including myself) thought we were done when Yao went down. If we basically sweep everyone, it will definitely be greater.

It would also be great on its own if the Mavericks were beaten by the Warriors (giant killers) in the first round.

As badly as the post-Clyde Rox fizzled, they still had Dream and I still believed they could get it done - even down to last breaths in 1st Round.

I love these guys but do not believe they can go deep into June. Thus, if magic strikes and the Jazz are jived, the Mavs Big D - stroyed, the Spurs/Suns set and Shaq or 'sheed treed then, yes, it would have to be the premier run of all play-off runs, even eclipsing '95.

    I wish, perchance to Dream...

Absolutely no way. 1995 was one of the most amazing playoff runs in NBA history for about a dozen reasons. The late season drama with Hakeem's medical condition, Mad Max quitting on the team; the comeback series win over the Jazz including the clock error and the game 5 clincher when we were down 7 with 5 minutes left (thank you David Benoit); Jack Madden's vendetta against Clyde, our comeback against the Suns after getting totally smoked in games 1 & 2 and Mario's Kiss of Death; the euphoria of beating the Spurs in games 1 & 2 on the road and the utter despair of losing games 3 & 4 at home (that feeling was just awful :( maybe my low point as a Rockets fan); Kenny's 3 pointer after Nick the Brick's missed 4 FTs in game one. Games 3 & 4 in the Finals were like an extended coronation ceremony because everybody knew we were going to win.

In order for the Warriors and Suns to even match up, the Warriors need to beat the Mavs and win their last game, while the Lakers lose to the Kings.

    Won't happen.

I would put the Suns and Sonics up there ahead of the Mavs for main rivals in the last 15 years.

Everyone is posting no but the poll says yes. The correct answer is no, but it still would be incredible. :)

I thought the clock error was Game 4 of the 1994 Western Conference Finals, which the Rockets won despite the clock not running.

You are correct. My bad. Gene went off the deep end on the radio. The ref called him an ***hole after the game and the microphones caught it.

Yes, this by far would be much greater you have to realize just how good the west is there are 3 teams who can all win 60 games thats is not a normal number. So if we were to come out of the west and win the title I find by far greater then in 95, and also its CD's last year.
