Simple question, if the Rockets had the opportunity to pick any player in this draft, which one would you think they should take, and why?

I would take Morrison as he has the passion and skills that would compliment this team more than any other player, and he is NBA ready today.

Lamarcus Aldridge, no doubt. There's a huge hole at PF, and we simply can't go another year with those douchebags Juwan and Stromile manning the PF position in the Western Conference.

Bargnani could take a few years to be a factor. Tmac would be old by then.

I really am not to high on morrison, I think he would be probably more of a liablity on defense than Redick. He also did all of his damage against garbage opponents as well. Think of those other Gonzaga stars the past few years; Blake Stepp, Richie Frahm, Dan Dickau, Ronnie Turiaf, Gonzaga plays against sh#t teams. Here's the players I would take over Morrison:

    Brandon Roy
    Andrea Bargnani
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Rudy Gay
    Tyrus Thomas
    Marcus Williams
    Randy Foye
    Shelden Williams
    JJ Redick
    Rodney Carney
    Ronnie Brewer
    Cedric Simmons

I really think if I was CD, I would take Roy #1. He really doesn'y have any weaknesses on or off the court. I like his size, his game and his attitude and he is a 4 yr college guy, he has also improved greatly every year.

Valid argument, but if Bargnani is the real deal, he will contribute from the start. Most everyone that followed/follows Euro basketball says he is WAY ahead of Dirk the year Dirk was drafted. Plus he could turn into a franchise player, which is just too much to pass up. I can definitely see taking Morrison. IMO, his offensive skills will translate very well to the NBA. On defense, he could be a train wreck.

Barganini for sure. He can play PF that can shoot outside shots. It will be so difficult to guard him and he would be a good fit with Yao n Tmac. This team needs a shooter and he fits that hole. Then pickup decent shooters via free agency for SG position.

Uhhhh, I hate to sound too harsh. However you are a complete idiot. I mean really, did you take any time to research your claims, or did you just think that Gonzaga is small thus they dont play good teams.

Against Memphis he scored 34. Against Michigan State he scored 43. Against Roy's very own Washington, he scored 43 (where was defensive stopper roy?). Oh, and that game Roy scored 10 points. Against Oklahoma State, 25 points. Against UCLA 24 points (Roy scored 10 points in a match against UCLA). Morrison scored 18 against UCONN which isnt so great, yet Roy only topped him by 2 points when he faced UCONN.

But yeah... way to use the "small-college" card without thinking. Haha whatever led you to your faulty reasoning, I hope you can see your shortcomings in this analysis.

ps.. sorry im not really rude Im just getting sick of the pre-draft drama. I cant wait to see the identity of our new addition. That, and I think Roy is being hyped up way too much from his year against a down Pac-10.

I shouldv'e checked out the #s, but I still don't like morrison. I don't care that Gonzaga is small, they had some tough non conference games, but they play in a joke conference. I have a bad feeling about him. I just don't hink he is that good.

I'd like to say Roy because he's the best fit, but I'd probaly have to go with Gay. HE might not fit as well, but he bring so much in the "intangible" and with T-Mac and Yao drawing most of the attention he'd be free to reek havoc.

Ronnie Turiaf is not that bad of a player. When he got some playing time in the playoffs he made some contributions. Plus the man had to have heart his rookie year. He reminds me of a young brian grant back when he was healthy.

I would probably say Aldridge, though I am not that high on him, but he would fill a need. The same for Roy.

Morrison is so pitiful defensively and his playing the three would force McGrady to the two, giving us effectively the worst lateral quickness in the NBA. No, no, no.

Bargnani would be great if T-Mac and Yao were five years younger, but they wouldn't have time for him to develop.

I still think my preference would be for Rudy Gay. Though he would force McGrady back to the two, he is a much better wing defender than Morrison, can play some four in smaller lineups because of his length and athleticism, can hit his open jumpers easily, and runs the floor and finishes with the best of them. He will end up somewhere in the Robert Horry, Lamar Odom, Teyshaun Prince range of player, which is not bad at all considering how poor this draft is.

Aldridge or Bargnani, those 2 guys have too much potential to pass up IMO.

true, but as is, we have a bigger hole at the 2. those guys arent pretty down there but they r decent enough to wait to fix until we fix the 2 spot.
