Would we still miss the 8th spot, even though we have the same winning percentage and same number of games played as Golden State? What decides the tie-breaker? Oh by the way, we have a slightly better record than Orlando, the third best team in the east. WOW!
I believe it is as follows... Head to head Divisional record Conference record - if in a different division So they beat us on numbers 1 and 3 which matter. So, we would miss the playoffs, thank GOD they don't start today. DD
As of today, we'd be on the outside looking in. The first tiebreaker is head to head (2-1 in favor of GS). There is one more game left against them in March. If things stay as they are, that is a huge game. The next tiebreaker is conference record, which is currently nearly identical (17-12 for GS and 17-13 for the Rockets).
LOL and the "analysts" claim Dwight is the best center, but look at Orlando, they are at damn LEast, while Rockets still have a better records than Magic. Yao is the best center, hands down.
That is because most "analysts" are dumb jocks with little or no education even though they attended college.
But what if we beat them in March and we end the season with indentical Conference records? What's next? Or is it someway mathematically impossible for them to have identical records in all 3 categories (overall, head to head, and Conference)?
http://www.nba.com/statistics/playoff_picture.html#tbb Houston is currently 7-11 against all playoff bound teams including GS GS is 8-8 against all playoff bound teams including Houston no tiebreakers, we need the 6th or 7th seed
