I,like most of you, believe we have the steal of the draft. So,how high does he go now?Consider the knee has held up well to say the least. He has 4 - 5 inches back on his vertical, and he is a monster out there.Carl's showed us the faceup jumper and the ability to throw down like a mother. In addition he rips boards out of guy's hands and over the rim.Carl also has the desire and work ethic to get much better IMO.Remember Landry has the pedigree, outplaying everybody in the Big 10 at his position and carried his team through the tournament until Purdue ran up against Florida where he showed what he was made of.(all this at less than 100 %)This guy is a scorer that can do even more.

I would take him at 8 or so.

I would take him at least ahead of Yi.

Simmons wrote a piece on this recently. I think he had him going 8th or 9th.

probably in the 20's. he's not a player with a ton of upside that you can build around. he's a solid contributor and nothing more. he's never gonna be a guy who can average 20ppg or 2bpg.

    Deff a top 10 pick

And to the dude above me. If Landry got a starting spot he would do just around there. Wait till the kid learns his post game, he has a decent shot. Skys the limit.

well, besides Oden, Durant and Horford, there is no one else you can build around. Landry would be a top ten pick, maybe even top eight.

He reminds me of Otis Thorpe.

    Probably ~15, +/- 5 spots, IMO.

Landry is best suited as a complimentary player on a playoff caliber team. Lottery teams tend to prefer younger players with higher upside. But Landry would help a lot of the weaker playoff teams, especially his ability to contribute immediately. His biggest problem though, is his age.

Then again, if Landry can develop post moves or shoot mid-range jumpers at 50%+ clip, then that's a whole other story. :)

Are you suggesting that picks 1-19 are guys you can build around? Look at the history of the draft. After about the first 5 picks, there typically aren't that many stars chosen. If you can get a solid, consistent contributor at the 8th pick, you've done well.

I'm with you man. I'd still take him in the teens I think. Let's see: durant, oden, the two als, you gotta gamble on yi, my gt boys thad young and i still think crittendon could be special, and probably mike connelly as well. Who am i missing? Sean Williams?
Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic with him, and love his intensity, and I think he fits perfectly, but I still think betting on his future growth is risky. I think he loves being sneaky/sly, and that's great but I don't see him as an OT or Barkley because I don't really see him owning the boards. Chuck tries to own it better, but just doesn't have the tools.

he's going to be 25 soon... thats whats hurting him. He was a 5 year senior, but thats the exact kind of player that rockets need... someone that can play and contribute right away.
