Since about the start of Obama's Presidency or so (maybe even back to Cninton's), Team Red has played the scorched earth card. The Republican controlled Congress do not get anything done. It is all about the Debt Ceiling and what concessions they can extort from the Ds.

But they stay hard on message.

On the start of Biden's Presidency their talking points were
    Biden is old and weak.
    Crisis at the Southern Bounder.
    The economy is ****.
    Inflation is high.
    Woke, woke, woke.
    Critical Race Theory.
    etc

Maybe Team Blue should grab a baseball bat and come out swinging. Day One of the Trump Presidency, they should ask Trump why he has not single handedly stopped the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, like he promised.

Their talking point for that should be
    Promise Made. Promises not kept.

    followed by
Trump is old and weak and ineffective.
Why is a loaf of bread not $1.19 instead of $1.99 like you promised?
Why is a gallon on gas not $1.89 like you promised?
Why are those 20 million illegals still here?
Why are seniors still paying taxes on their SS?
Why aren't all income taxes replaced by tariffs?
Why are the Haitians still in Springfield Ohio?
How many women must die in hospitable parking lots because of the Trump Abortion Ban?
How many students need to die before we do something about gun violence in schools?

And when it comes time to pass any bill in Congress, the Ds should tell the Rs that they are on their ****ing own. No more grownups in the room. No more getting to know the "Trump Voter". No more Mr Nice Guy.

As an aside, I remember a national news interview in a small town diner ... you know ... to get know the "Trump Voters". One women said that she thought Nancy Pelosi was literally the devil herself. This is probably the results of years and years of demonizing the other side. The lady followed up with Pelosi's gay husband deserved to get beat with a hammer. I do not see how one could have a reasonable conversation with that group or to be able to develop a consensus of what the government should or should not do.

As another aside from another news crew interview, this time in Western North Carolina after the hurricane. The residents talked about how they lost touch with the outside world since their power and cell towers were down. They were heaping mad that the NC D governor and the state guard had ignored them. This was their go-to assumption ... that the Ds were out to screw them. When their power came back on, they found out different.

Back to topic ... whatever the Ds decide to do, they should not just run it back. What they are doing aint working.

I guess that’s the reason some people are elected president. They aren't like everyone else. I dunno.

Stop paying our bills? I guess I can send the a note to the electric company that I did not find their electricity up to my standards, so I am not paying until they fix that.

This is why Trump won. He did a MASTERFUL job of catering to this kind of voter.

Remember back in 2008 when John McCain grabbed the mic from that old bat who was saying she was scared of Obama because he was an A-RAB? Yeah, those days are LONG gone. Can you imagine how Trump would react in that situation?

This is all true. But there is no there there. No plans, only concepts of a plan if backed into corner.

the 1920s and before, which is exactly where we're headed. racist "vice signaling," racial violence, mob racial violence: all broadended and extended out to sexual, religious and immigrant minorities; systemic financial market and bank failures - alongside literal trillionaires - due to individualized short term self-interest. Increased pandemics and consumption-based illnesses due to food and product deregulation, and limited accountability through the courts. And no more pensions, social security or disability insurance of any kind, to say nothing of Medicare or Medicaid.

    lol

except I never said any of that as my own opinion

    Regarding the thread:

Yes, please, by all means, double down on stupid and continue to blame everyone but yourselves.

I'm sure it will work out well for you to never question how you lost the working class, with your divisive strategy of catering to fringe groups according to an insane totem pole of victimhood, rather than making politics for the average working class person who just wants to put food on the table for their family.

    Top Fox New Advertisers:
    • GlaxoSmithKline,
    • Liberty Mutual,
    • General Motors,
    • Procter & Gamble,
    • Intuit,
    • NortonLifeLock,
    • Nestle,
    • Kraft Heinz,
    • Progressive,
    • Charles Schwab,
    • Toyota, and
    • Subaru.

It would be a real shame if they got boycotted by Team Blue.

I would add Tesla and Amazon to the list as well.

We could also demand that cable/satellite TV providers stop including Fox News in their basic packages.

I have boycotted Subaru my entire life.
Everyone I see seems to have a sticker saying
I didn't rescue my dog it rescued me.
Or the old faded Cinton, Kaine sticker.
It's the car of the truly thirsty.

WRT Fox News and Trump ...

Trump threatened to shut down CBS ... because his fee-fees got hurt.

Imagine if the Ds had ever done the same for Fox and Fox News. Fox News is so so so concerned about the "poisoning" of the minds of school children, all the while pumping out less than factual propaganda for the Republicans and the Russians (an enemy of the state, no less).

Same goes for Twitter. The Russians messed with our elections again this year (emailing bombs threats and such). Musk and Twitter promoting Russian bot content sure does sound like ... treason. If the US can shut down TikTok, ...

I'm not done with my ex post analysis yet.

But couple thigns that are clear is that

    1) the existence of a separate multitrillion dollar propaganda delivery media ecosystem geared towards Lowest Common Denominator voters is a HUGE advantage for the right. Basicallly it's an alliance of billionaires and republicans to continously make life worse for people, remind them that their life is worse, and blame the people who have a chance of makign their life better.

    2) Relying on the old organs -TV News, NY Times etc - to make contextual arguments to people is just ..not goign to work. The audience isn't tehre and algorithmically driven news abhors context

    3) SIMPLE slogans that we find distasteful might be better way sof reaching low info voters.

What's more effective, a moving 5 minute video produced by Aaron Sorkin on women who died due to Trump Abortion Bans, or Kamala Harris shouting "She bled out in the parking lot" "Trump & Musk will Rape America" - 10,000 times in a row so taht every american hears it. I don't think she or any dem wants to do that, and most dem voters would be turned off by it - but is it a more effective strategy for low information voters, like the undocumented worker who thinks mass deportation is only going to affect "the bad people"? Maybe.
