If this lockout gets worse and the whole season is lost will you come back to the NBA once the lockout ends or are you done with the NBA?

I have already been losing interest in the NBA and miss the good ol days of the 90's with Barkley, Jordan, Ewing, Robinson, Olajuwon, Tomas, etc. I think this might be the final straw for me. At a point in my life where I just care less and less and don't even get too excited about watching a game. If this season is lost I think I might just be done with the NBA. I might watch a game here or there if its on TV but I'm probably done as a true fan of the NBA.

What are others thought on this board?

If a whole season is lost, I will never go back to being the same kind of fan I was (am).

It would really suck but I love the Rockets and the game too much to just stop csring. If they come our of this lockout with a better model that brings equally to all teams then its a success

Absolutely I'll watch it as soon as it starts up again. Especially now that I'm back into sports betting. I wish it would come back ASAP.

It does suck and i'm sure most of us are dissapointed but it just seems like the players and especially the owners don't care about us fans who help them make their millions. If they don't care about the fans why should the fans care and support them?

I enjoy the game of basketball and will still watch some games on TV when the lockout ends but I doubt I'll spend money on going to an actual game.
OH well at least we still have the NCAA :)

The choice I would like is "I love basketball and will always be a fan."

I really don't 'love' the NBA.

So I chose YOF. Why not.

I love basketball and the NBA is by far the best basketball league on the planet. Yes I will be watching again, but that does not mean I'm happy with what is happening.

I voted that I love the NBA...it's not the NBA I love, though...it's the Rockets. I won't pretend that I'll stop watching them.

I think I'll be paying more attention to NCAA basketball and foreign leagues. There's never enough basketball to watch. I'm angry with the NBA. I just wish there was another league as competitive and talented as the NBA.

I bet the Spurs would like a 50 game season.

You have Lebron/Wade/Durant/Rose/Howard/Wall/Griffin... in their primes. There are TOO MANY great and exciting players. They will lose some casual fans, but it'll still be more popular than MLB.

I'd probably watch less if it was a strike-shortened season, because it wouldn't feel legitimate to me, so I'd care less. Any team's success would have an asterisk. No matter when they come back, I'll probably hold a grudge and ignore it a while, just out of principle as a disrespected consumer. Then I'll probably start watching again because the Rockets are going to be exciting.

Still watch it. Why not? It's my favorite sport and my favorite team. And the thousands of posts I have here are mostly from GARM.

The only way for me to stop is if I find an alternative form of entertainment that would take up my time instead during the NBA season. I have yet to find anything that comes close, quite frankly. So whenever the NBA starts again, I'll be following it again.

As for the 50 game season, I would love it. The Rockets aren't contending anyway. I want to see how our young kids develop

I was much bigger college basketball fan before moving from a Rockets-only fan to true NBA fan. I will migrate back in a similar pattern that I followed regarding the NFL over the past few years.

absolutely i will. i just hope that all these terrible business owners are somehow forced to sell their teams. i know that's not ever going to happen...this is america where you are rewarded for running a company into the ground.

We're relatively lucky compared to the other teams with this lockout.

Some teams are wasting one whole year of their team's prime (Miami, Lakers, Dallas), some teams are wasting one whole year of strong development (Thunder, Grizzlies etc.)

I'm still going to watch the NBA, it's basketball after all. But if I were a fan of say.. the Spurs, I would probably stop watching for a while since there isn't anything to look forward to besides a few years of mediocrity with the lockout further reducing their players' values.
