If you're going to replace Rudy, you could at least spell his possible replacements' names right... :D

On the way back from the game, I had 610 on and some frustrated fan-caller referred to Rudy as Gomer Pyle. I thought this was pretty mean-spirited and unfair. Mean-Spirited and unfair to Gomer that is.

Rudy is a great ambassador for the Rockets and is a nice guy, but the guy is an idiot when it comes to running this team. This is a new and young team but if the Rockets don't show significant improvement by the end of the season, I say give John Thompson, Van Gundy or that guy who used to coach the Spurs when the little mermaid won the MVP a call.

The coach that can work with young players is Larry Brown.
Van Gundy might be good, but he has not worked with young players yet.

I'd like to see Larry Smith or Jim Boylen get a chance to coach the team if Rudy ever got fired.

We really should have gone after Hubie Brown.

Otherwise, I think Pat Riley is looking for a change of scenery...

If we had to have a replacement then Donnie Nelson would be my choice. But I am still a long way away from being out on Rudy.

If we had to change head coaches, I'd bring in Rudy T. Classy guy, knows talent, liked by the players, has proven he can win (with the same talent 'coach of the year' Don Chaney had) , and is well respected around the league.

Donnie Nelson would not come to Houston and become a rival with his father. Del Harris could come, though. I think Calvin Murphy is a great and funny TV commentator who analyzes the Rockets very well, but he couldn't be the coach. I think he should tell Rudy all his thoughts during the game. Rudy Tomjanovich is staying! If he was to leave, I would like one of the assistant coaches for a while. NOT CLYDE DREXLER. He failed with the UH team. Jeff Van Gundy would be good...PLEASE DO NOT FIRE RUDY!!! :(
