I don't know if he is a great pure pg, but Russell Westbrook strikes fear into me as a grizzlies fan. No other pg is quite that way for me.

    Westbrook is a beast.

Chris Paul and Deron Williams are both better than Derrick Rose...

I have a hard time judging him as the best PG, the guy is a pg/sg hybrid who plays the 1.

As far as true PGs are concerned he is behind CP Dwill and Rondo already...

I would put the best PG in the NBA at Rondo, the guy is a machine at setting up his team mates and can get to the rim at will. His shot is improving and he isnt an abhorrent at the FT line anymore.

PG's are tough to judge. are we trying to decide who is the best basketball player who plays pg? or who is the best at running an offense and setting up his teammates?

most talented player at PG is rose. best "pure pg" is still nash, followed by rondo. somewhere in the middle, between both categories is best overall and that would have to be a tie between paul and d-will.

The pg position is so stacked at this point, it's impossible to pinpoint who is the best. In fact you can only say who is playing the best for a certain period of time before someone else takes over that spot.

This year it's probably Rose, and then CP3

Last year it was Deron Williams

The year before that was Chris Paul

Rose is the best pointguard this year, but over a career its defenitely CP3.

Probably CP3. What will be fun is who is the best next year? I say it will be between Rose, CP3 and Westbrook. Rose and WB haven't peaked yet.

Rose is more of a combo guard than an actual PG.

CP3 is the best "pure" PG in the game but rose's ability to score and take over games puts him slightly above most PG's in the league.

This year it was Rose but CP3 can take the crown back next year.

Point Guard - What makes one a Point Guard

I have watched Rose and Westbrook
    and
Honestly . ..they remind me of Francis, Inverson than Stockton, Nash, Kidd

not that their is anything wrong with that

The 'Scoring' Point Guard seems more the norm than anything now.

I know D. Rose has emerged and has had a fantastic season but I still think it's between Deron Williams and CP3 and I'm partial to Deron because of his build.

This whole "pure PG" talk is nonsense. Who is the most effective or who is the best player at the position? That is the real issue. Forget who is "combo" and who is "pure".

I think the designations of POINT GUARD and SHOOTING GUARD
are becoming more and more . . . about height than style of play

It really just depends on who else u have on your team.

If u need a scorer than id take Rose over all of them, but for a team that already has a top scorer than Id take Rondo...

There are so many good PGs right now though!
