Somebody needs to go out, If deke plans to play for Houston again? For Me it would be Luther Head or Steve Francis. I could careless which one goes out. I would say Francis, since at least Head has been doing something for this team since he got here. Francis has done nothing since his prime.
I like everyone on this team, well, if the decision has to be made....cut me please. Really hope one day, these guys can get the ring
I'd just get rid of Luther Head, anyway possible.. trade him, waive him, let him practice his layups on a a greased floor without him knowing it, making Deke give him a nice elbow in practice.. I don't care, I just want him off this team and back where he belongs, the NBDL/CBA/Euro basketball/where ever the heck he wants to go..
We have roster spot, we just need to clear some salary. Need to trade Francis or Head to clear some cap.
I honestly would like to see Steve Francis play first, before I say just cut him. I think Head leaving would be a big +.
by cutting (waiving) a player, we do not get any salary relief. -- and as mentioned above, we have the roster space to sign deke, but not are tied financially. If we are to sign Deke, it won't be a result of cutting someone. Also, it's not likely a result of trading head unless we get a trade exception out of it. Trading head for other players will not create any significant cap room.
+1 Cutting someone doesn't mean you get rid of the contract, you still have to pay the dude. We already have 1 roster space for Deke, so cutting someone would not do anything regarding our ability to get him back. This thread is pointless, lock this up please.

we certainly do need to cut someone...we're $19 million over salary cap and les is paying nearly $6 million in luxury tax...
As stated a couple of times in this thread - cutting someone does not save the team from luxury tax land. They still have to pay the person and their salary still counts against the team salary and LT salary tax.
I can't believe that most of our choice is steve ! we chinese fans like deke ,IF rocekts solicit contributions from the general public of china,I think it's easy to collect 2million. ONE dollar for one person!HOW much it would be? maybe 10million,it's enough to get deke back.
I dont think Francis can stay in Rox when playoffs coming, by now, he hasnt got chance to prove he is 100% healed, he need to prove himself in practices, remember NBA is a commercial association. You may have faith in Steve Francis, so am I. At least Adelman trust Head more than SF3..
say we cut someone who is in their first year of a four year contract...does the remaining three years still count or just the current year?
It's really hard to decide between Francis and Head. We all know Head has been horrendous for the last 2 years... But at least he has attempted to do something for this team, Steve Francis hasn't done jack for this franchise since he was with Cuttino Mobley.
