If I were a citizen, I'd vote for George W. Bush, because I love it when the country enters into meaningless wars, when the environment is completely destroyed to the benefit of big corporations, and the rest of the world hates this country. I think it's great the rich CEOs get richer while those pathetic poor people, who obviously don't deserve money or any sort of quality lives, are forced onto the streets. I hate it when the enconomy does well. Also, I think that Jesus should be forced down the throats of all people, no matter what. I like censorship, in fact I love it. I think all references to sex should be removed from all forms of media. We shouldn't forget to cover up all those bare t*tties on those dang statues everywhere. They make Jesus cry. That whole bill of rights thing needs to go too. I think Bush should be appointed Supreme Dictator of the world, and be allowed to either imprison or execute anyone who stands in his way. People should be allowed to have assault rifles, but only if they're white males, live in the south, and love to kill animals for sport. I have a lot of other reasons, but these are all I can think of at the moment.
I wonder if this thread will be bigger than the lindsay lohan thread? if Bush wins I think we will sink to the depths of the french when they gave Jerry Lewis their highest artistic honor.
Damn liberals. What, you don't like that sweet, thick, brown air hovering over cities? You must hate 'Merica!
LOL You'd think Americans would hate a government that encouraged companies to blanket our cites in a toxic brown fog.
so are rockets fans liberal or do we just have a tendency to hate bush? im kind of wondering how many texans won't vote for bush.
Not enough to deny him Texas' electoral votes, but potentially enough to embarass him a little on his way out of office.
I'm personally dissapointed that my vote probably won't make much difference because of my location, but I'm still going out to vote.
as of right now...Im leaning towards Kerry since Im not stupid enough to fall for the misdirection campaign that the Repubs seem to be tossing at us. Bush had a chance with me...but with every passing day that chance is getting smaller and smaller. I must admit Im not real thrilled with any politician, but that makes it no different than any other election year.
If history follows, Bush will lose in Austin and Houston, but overwhelmingly win the rest of the state. Even v. Gore, Bush lost Houston 49 percent to 51 percent and Austin by a wider margin, but the rest of the state voted for him in large numbers.
In the latest poll I saw, Bush has a strong lead in the battleground states. That's what matters here, not the approval numbers or these popular vote polls that we see so often. If the election were based on that polling data, Bush's electoral victory margin would be roughly 100 electoral votes. That's huge. Forbes Kerry is in such a bad position right now that is made increasingly complex by the Iraq situation. As voters become angry about Iraq, I believe a greater proportion of them will go towards Nader, as he is the only candidate who did not authorize the war in Iraq. I don't think the more centrist Democrats have recognized this little phenomenon yet. On MTP this morning, Nader was polling 5% overall. This could really hurt Forbes Kerry in states such as Wisconsin, Oregon and Florida, among other. I find this amusing.
I believe that so far Nader hasn't gotten the requirements to be on the ballot in any state. I know that was true a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't seen any thing different since then, but it could have changed.
BS. Why should we believe you? You ever provide a link, Trader_J? Or is it against your philosophical convictions. If you ever played by the rules you delight in having everyone else but you use, you might find a modicum of respect here. Unlikely, but not impossible.
The latest polls dealing with electoral votes had Bush and Kerry tied. I tried to find them on the net again (I saw them yesterday), but I can't remember where I saw them though it was a major media outlet. Don't believe me if you don't want to; I don't particularly care. The poll I saw also mentioned that Kerry started out needing everything Gore got plus ten additional electoral votes (due to redistricting) and that, according to the pollsters anyway, he should be pleased to be tied in electoral votes right now. On another, more interesting note, if there are actually 17 people here who would vote for Bush, they should start posting in this forum. The pro-Bush lobby here is woefully under-represented and at least a few of the Bushies who post here are clearly bordering on mental illness. It'd be a lot more fun to debate and discuss with people who had some kind of grip on reality. National polls show an evenly divided nation and I know there aren't that many disturbed people in this country. It'd be great to hear the Bush argument from more of the mentally healthy.
Looks like the liberal inmates have taken over this asylum. 60-17. wow... I'd have expected more support for Bush on a site that is based in Texas. Personally, I live in Boston so me voting is not going to matter. However, I guess I could also register to vote in Florida. In any case, John Kerry just doesn't inspire me. Walked by a couple of his rallies, could have shook his hand, but I just don't see him as the next president of the United States. J.K... all the way... ech... Anyway. Bush certainly gets a lot of flack... but I fail to see how a change in a White House would tangibly improve our lives.
