Given your current (or past) skill level, what is the minimum height it would have taken to get you a roster spot in the NBA... 6'5"... 6'9".... 7'2".... or Yaoza!

Right now with my abyssmal talent, I'd have to be at least a seven-footer. In my "prime" a proportioned 6'8" could've been enough.

Frankly, any able-bodied person over 6'7" really doesn't have an excuse NOT to be in the league.

Well, my ex-girlfriend used to say if I had three more inches, I'd be money.

Maybe that's why she's your ex girlfriend.

D'oh. By that I meant that anyone that size that honestly tries can (and should) make it. Apologies.

I'd say, at this point, I would have to be at least 6'9 - 6'10. I was quicker a few years ago, so I think I could have made it as 6'6 SG/tweener.

Anti : That's simply not true. Look at today's college rosters. Every one of those teams has at least 3-4 guys over 6'7. Only a small fraction of them make it to the NBA.

I still think that's a bit short for anyone with the right body and coordination. I mean, there are tons of guys who work hard but can't make it at 6'7''. I'd say you have to be freakishly tall, like a true seven footer or thereabouts, to be virtually assured a spot.

I'd be about 6"10 Kelvin Cato style crazy rebounder, with a better jumpshot.

    7-Foot Man
    By Adam Sandler

We just wrote this song on the bus the other day so just sit back and relax

    I'm the 7 foot man,
    I've commited no crime,
    Bumping my head into doorways,
    It happens all the time,
    I'm 7 feet tall,
    And I repeat,
They don't make a ski boot that can fit my feet,
    I'm 7 feet tall,
    And I dont play basketball,

    I'm 7 feet tall,
But I'm still just a man,
So of course it hurts me a lot,
When I walk into the ceiling fan,
Small people say I wish I was him,
But its been nine years since I've had a trim,
    The barber says,
I cant reach the top of his head,

    7 foot man,
    (ha ha)I cannot hide,
    7 foot man,
    I know cause I've tried,
    7 foot man,
    My last girlfriend died,
    Because my penis,
    Is 7 foot wide!!!!!!!!!

So the next time you see me,
    Walking around,
And my head is right about to hit a tree branch,
    Tell me to duck down,
And I'll pay you back ,
    Soon you will see,
By getting you frisbee down from that tree,
    I do what i can,
    I'm the 7 foot man,

    7 foot man,
    7 foot man

As for me, I'd say 6-8. In college I could have played either forward spot. But since I am only 6' 5 3/4 " tall, I will just have to settle for being the tall guy who dominates against the pickup ball crowd (unless you do what I did one summer, play in the pickup games at Cameron Indoor Stadium at Duke, where I was guarded by some guy from Wake who stole it from me twice and rejected my shot once).
