How big will the riots be? Obviously LA , NYC, and Chicago will have security problems but are we talking LA Riots size? Larger? Smaller?
I suspect nothing worse than what Republican counties did in Florida in 2000. People beating down doors at precinct HQs.. BIG formal protests at the inaug.. etc
Columnists claim all kinds of things. Can we mark you down for believing and agreeing with everything any of them have said? We definitely can't count CaseyH among those who agrees with all columnists - he breaks out the rolleyes every time anyone suggests that Bush is responsible for anything that has happened during the time he's been president. But he does agree with the one columnist who suggested there might be riots if Obama loses. Why? CaseyH didn't ask if there would be riots. He assumed there would be and asked how large they would be. Why is that, do you think?

No. But some people do as is suggested over smaller issues. Well. Some of the blame has been a stretch. Some made plenty of sense. I think I hinted at those columns, not CaseyH. Why? Because some people are ignorant enough to do as they're told when it comes to violence. Fear... and some of the exact same ignorance maybe?

If I have you mixed up with someone else, I apologize. There's an excellent chance of that. But you don't believe everything any columnist says, as IROC it suggested. You just explained why you assume there will be riots: because you think that black people will resort to violence and criminal behavior if they are unhappy with the results of an election.

I assumed Casey was thinking, as many are, that if Obama loses, it would be by the narrowest of margins ever and would open the door to a lot of voter impropriety accusations. If he wasn't thinking that, and assumed that people would go ape***** just because he lost... then shame on him. (fill in the blanks with your own racial undertones)
Who's to say some white person won't start a riot, only to have the media blame someone else? People have done stupider things in the past. I hope nothing of the sort happens, no matter what the outcome... But, we all know that in some cities (I'm looking at you, Detroit) they riot when their own sports franchises win the championship... People are easily duped into a mob mentality for many reasons. I really doubt it would happen this go 'round though. We're more likely to see a riot on Wall Street in the coming few days. I sincerely hope no one has to bump this thread come November 5th though.
What did you mean when you said "when race is involved" and asked if the riots would be bigger than the ones in L.A.? When was the last riot white people started because they were unhappy with an election or court case? Were you talking about Asians? Latinos? You didn't have to say it. It's obvious what you meant.
