Another senseless act of violence by our "favorite protected minority".

Are you implying that all black people look alike? That is so racist I want to vomit all over myself and then scrape it off of myself, re-ingest it, and then vomit it on you. Nothing personal.

I thought this expectation that Obama should send condolences for the murder was a little out there. There's a lot of murders in this country. Should we have the Office of the President attending to every one of them?

Maybe the ambassador to England should have sent a letter of condolence. Maybe the town's mayor. Even then, sending condolences is going to become a bureaucratic burden when everyone starts expecting acknowledgement every time someone is killed.

Trayvon had big ears, that's what most people would assume he meant.

Is he going to be in prison or set free? Do you actually think the justice system protects African Americans? Have you seen the disproportional sentencing for cocaine vs. crack?

I think gwayneco has a valid point.

Obama was trying to ride the wave of sympathy for Trayvon Martin to increase his own popularity while the investigation was still going on and not all the fact were out. His sentence about how his own son would have looked can be turned around and used against him (as gwayneco did here).

In my opinion, a head of a government should respect an ongoing investigation and not comment in the way he did. The parents of the two murder victims here have a right to ask "why did he comment on that other killing and is silent on the killing of our sons? what does the way his son would look have to do with anything?"

I'm an Obama fan, but I think he made a mistake here with his premature statement.

That's like asking why didn't Obama pick the winners of the Texas high school basketball tournament since he picked a bracket for the NCAA tournament. Like it or not, one is a bigger national story than the other. Just so no one comes back and says that I'm saying one person's death is more important than another, that's not my point.
