We already win at the 5 every night, we already win at the 2 every night, Tjones is young and will get better, Dmo is getting bigger and stronger. We have great team chemistry.

We will be in the thick of it as is. Everyone knows we need to work on D and ball movement. This team could catch fire and win it all.

We are re-signing Parsons no matter what. Between now and when that Parsons 72-hour window closes status-post his contract signing, the Rockets have near-max money to use up or else most of it disappears forever. We can't sign a FA next year with that money, since Parsons' contract will be eating up the majority of it. Re-signing Parsons will take us way over the cap.

If Les Alexander is willing then, Plan C (A: Melo, B: Bosh) will be to spend that money, PRUDENTLY, on reasonably priced, preferably short-term contracts on good depth players. A.k.a. what the Mavericks did last year after Dwight spurned them. Even if we don't get a superstar, it will be necessary to spend that money this summer so that we maintain our options in a sign-and-trade or straight-out trade if/when other guys like Rondo or LMA come loose.

I am positive Morey has thought about this. He must have talked to free agents already lining up this possibility. Lowry probably was at this level, but he didn't want to wait/was never offered anything close to what Toronto gave him.

If we lose out on all the FA's our offseason is a huge failure

Weren't there a ton of posters clamoring for shoring up the depth during the off-season rather than grabbing Melo?

All of a sudden we meet with Melo and then everyone changes their mind? If we miss out on Melo, Bosh, LeBron... There's still the possibility of trading for K. Love, but I'd rather not as it would mean giving up Parsons (who we'd likely have signed to a max or close to max by that time).

I'm all for grabbing a solid PF, and PG. Even if Lin is not traded, ultimately he doesn't want to be here playing for Houston and Houston really doesn't think he's a part of our future either. So I can see Lin either being traded if we can give only a few second rounders to unload him, or traded right before the trade deadline next February. If it's the latter, then it's in the Rockets' best interest to not give him heavy minutes because you'd rather not have a rotational guy drop out right as you make your playoff run.

The obvious answer is to move the entire city of Houston to either the East or West coast or anywhere near the coast in Florida. We would have the free agents lining up then!!;)

I'm still curious if we can turn the Asik trade into Asik for Anderson.

    Another 1st rd exit.
Morey/Les better get their **** together because they could lose D12 if he opts out of his contract and leaves in 2016.

    Thats not far away guys.

We hold onto the "assets" we have and wait for the next opportunity, just like when we got Harden out of the blue.

Lose Parsons to Dallas (or overpay to keep him) and keep Jeremy Lin.....and probably end up advancing further in the playoffs due to having the core team intact for two years...though there is that problem of losing Asik and having no one to guard the 4.

I would not consider this summer a failure if we dont get Bron, Melo, Bosh, or work out a trade for Love. We will have tried for each of them and THEY decided not to come. Nothing Morey can do about that.

There are still quality players out on the market that can be had who will improve our team. Two superstars with a lot of quality depth around them would be formidable. We all know we needed to upgrade the 4, the 1, and find a wing defender to be much better. Those players are still out there or we can trade for them. They may not be superstars but I think Morey could bring in quallity players.
