Don't know. I think they should go after Ed Davis, Jordan Hill and James Johnson. Add J. O'Neil with the vet minimum at the 5 spot. Re-sign Parsons. The Rockets should explore trades with the additions of assets, at the February deadline.
If we strike out on everybody I'll go back to post-Lillard buzzer beater depression. Because we spent an entire offseason drowning in speculation and ending up with a worse team than last year.
Thaddeus would be a nice addition. Josh Smith is inefficient, and not worth going after. Greg Monroe isn't a good fit with Howard, but he could help us out.
Watch Terrence Jones start to assert himself on both ends of the court. This kid is about to blow up.
Lin is already a goner. There's no need to bring him back. It will also be detrimental to team chemistry since he'll be out anyway. It's better to groom somebody for the long run as early as possible. Team chemistry these days is always almost forgotten in favor of "stars".
I don't think it matters what he is. If we can't put together a meaningful run by then, I think he's gone.
Shore up the bench, Trade for Love or use the Hornets pick and go after Love and big free agents next summer. Still not a bad plan. Would be shocked don't add a big piece on July 10th
Realistic options for Houston at PF: Terrance Jones Ersan Ilyasova Josh Smith Ryan Anderson Greg Monroe Andray Blatche Kris Humphries Jordan Hill Dejuan Blair Drew Gooden
plan Z trade Lin to Philly to create the cap space offer Stephenson near max deal sign-and-trade Parsons+filler to Minnesota for Love Howard Love Stephenson Harden Beverley bench still suck though
I'v argued till my face was blue on why Smith would be a great pickup in older threads, so i'm just going to put my faith that if Morey has a chance to nab him that he does. Young is would also be a excellent pick up. He doesn't need the ball in his hands to score, he gets almost all of his points off of pick and rolls and cuts. Although he doesn't shoot a high 3 point %, his shot is still respectable enough to stretch the floor. He's also a very versatile defender. He can guard on the perimeter, pick&rolls and in the post. He's not much of a shot blocker but he can definitely get you some steals. Top it off he's only 26, perfect age for our core, and is easily attainable considering the 76'rs position and Morey's relationship with Hinkie. Lin, Jones and a future pick should be enough. Sign a backup defense SF, another big man with our cap space and then re-sign Parsons and call it a off season. All of course being, If we strike out on James/Love/Melo/Bosh/Rondo etc.
He declined 5 yr 44 he would probably take 4 yrs 40. Between James and Chandler you may need a good defender and he can defend small forwards. He in my opinion is an underrated player who at the age of 23 has a lot of potential, he is used to a free lance system on offense and has a chip on his shoulder. Remember he would only be one piece leaving you with roughly 10-12 million to be used elsewhere before Chandler resigns. I think his trade value will increase as well. He could be part of a trade for Love if he pans out. Hell I wish the Knicks would get him but we never have cap space. Still think you guys get Bosh however.
