Love is still available later on the in the season. Even then, it's not like this team is in a horrid position. It just needs to beef up the bench and add a perimeter defender on the wing.
I think we'll trade a lot of assets for Kevin Love. I think McHale has spoken to Love and told him that he would be our first option if not for the ridiculous expectations of the owner in a trade. Then when all options disappear and we become willing to trade lots of assets to them, the story will be "we caved because you are so amazing and we had to get you no matter the price."
Assuming we resign Parsons to something like 12 million a pop and keep Lin, what does our cap situation look like? Would we have the MLE and BAE?
I'd say go after Love w/o Parsons If that fails then go after Rondo w/o Parsons If that fails then go after Love w/ Parsons If that fails, we cry.
See if Minny would be interested in a Parsons, TJones, 2 1st round picks trade for KLove. If they're not, don't do the Asik trade. Keep Lin. Bring back Parsons. Make noise at the trade deadline.
Thaddeus Young or Josh Smith. We must upgrade our PF position, we need someone who can defend in the post and on the perimeter. Any other players that fit that criteria? Players that are attainable?
Lance would be an interesting 6th man to have but he's got character issues. Would be crazy since I saw him in that one documentary about making to the big leagues. He'll demand too much though. Won't put us over the top and he recently declined Pacers' 4 year/40 mil offer or whatever it was.
I think the Rockets are still fine without Bosh, Melo, or Lebron. They will hopefully grow from last year being most of the team is still young. They just need a better coach to manage the team and assist Mchale. Still potential to be a great team.
We throw everything at Rondo and Love, otherwise, we're likely screwed for two years and possibly done. Dwight can opt out by then.
