I hope they face the clippers in the first round. If we can face GSW, spurs, Dallas we can make it to the finals.
They upset the Spurs a few years ago in the same 1/8 matchup. I don't see why it can happen again. Any team that can't contain Conley and Zbo/Gasol frontcourt is screwed.
Grizzlies would be DOA against OKC in the 1st round. They would almost certainly lose to the Clippers or Spurs but might scare them.
the grizzlies are very inconsistent due to the fact that they are relying on shooting the 3 well to win games. In years past, the grizzlies won by using a combination of offensive rebounding and defense, two things that were always there. That is why the grizzlies could often win games even when their shooting percentage was less than 40% from the field. When the grizzlies are hitting shots they look like world beaters. But all too often now, they shoot themselves into games and out of games. This all came about when Hollinger and Leiven took over the day to day operations of the grizzlies.
Blake is much better and Memphis just isn't scary right now. Very little chance of winning 4 playoff games against the Clips. They better hope CP3 and Blake are nicked up again.
And his one bad game through this stretch was against none other than Zbo, Zbo hits him over and over and wears him down, same as what David West does to Lebron whenever Miami try small ball.
I think Memphis would give SA, OKC and Clippers more of a scare than us. I actually think we match up quite well with them and would handle them relatively easily.
OKC would annihilate Memphis. They would have extra motivation given what happened last year in the playoffs. The Clippers, on the other hand, would be in for a tough series against the Griz.
If you end up in a 6 or 7 game series with memphis, even if you win, you could well lose the first cpl games in the next series from not feeling 100%, that team is as physical as they come.
