Honest question. Sexual desires seem to be the one constant every man has. So, the question is where did that desire come from? Certainly not from me. I feel as if I were born with sexual lusting in my bones and if that's the case how can it be a sin, if I have no control over how desire for women and any man that has had sex even once pretty much realizes it is the best euphoric feeling ever and you can't get that experience any other kind of way but sex. So, again you can that be sinful.

We have overriding, immense sexual desires because it is written into our DNA as a survival mechanism.

Same reason we crave fat, salt, and sugar.

Anything that enhances or secures survival of the species is going to eventually get carved into your DNA via natural selection.

Because in order to be closer to an omnipotent God, we have to deny all our basic desires in order to become more like God, who created us in His own image.

Hope this clears things up for you.

I've heard that heroin is better. I'm too chicken to try it, though.

Remember this: it won't grow hair on your palms and you won't go to the place with the guy in the red suit holding a pitchfork

Honest response. My church would tell you:

    1. Sexual desire is not a sin. However, misapplying your sexual desire -- by wontonly lusting after a woman who is not your wife -- would be. Lust for your wife all you want and then some.

    2. You and everyone were born in sin. As a sinner, you desire to sin. So, what wonder would it be if your desire for inappropriate sex, overindulgence in food, addiction to anything and everything, money, power, etc, was sinful? As a sinner, of course the desire for sinful pleasures is in your bones. That's the Fall.

Oh, this is easy. It's not a sin and there is no god.

Somewhere back in the primordial ooze, some amino acids bumped into to each other and the chemical reaction created a new amino acid in their likeness. And from there it was on.

The humans liked it so much they eventually decided they might need slow things down a little or all anyone would do was f**k; their sister, their cousin, goats ... there just had to be some ground rules or that's all anybody would be doing. And, no one would be responsible for the resulting children and goatmen. So they set up some rules and used the whatever motivational tactics they could think of to enforce the rules. Sort of like you your Mom telling you you were going to get it when your Dad got home.

Is that Ernest Borgnine? If so, I love that he's in this thread. If not, now he is in this thread.

Oh, dear B-Bob... my once high approval of your BBS performance has taken a sharp downturn. That is The Bishop (Henry Wilcoxon) in Caddyshack just before he gets struck by lightning. While there is some resemblance to Ernest, it is not the same guy and you should be ashamed for not recognizing a still from one of the greatest movies of all time.

I am not saying one cannot control desire. I mean if people didn't control it to some extent we'd mob each other in the street.

What I am saying is why is there ANY in us that we have to control at all. If man has an innate desire for the opposite sex that we did not ask for, why call it sin when it was given to us.

Sex is not like alcohol, where you have to acquire a taste for it. Sexual temptation comes from within, right?

If drinking too much beer gives you a hangover, why did God make it taste so good?

    Everything in moderation.
