If Lebron wants to leave Cleveland, why isn't he just as realistic as Bosh?

If Cleveland goes down to Boston, which might happen, it seems like there is a good chance LBJ will want to go somewhere else.

That puts him in the same situation as Bosh, a max contract player looking for another team, who stands to make more money through a SnT.

So if you argue Houston has the best collection of assets to offer Toronto, and the most appealing situation for Bosh, why couldn't the same be said of Cleveland and James?

We've all discussed this for the last year or so. Same thing could be said for Wade

Chris Bosh is a more realistic possibility.

I come up with "what ifs" everyday....here's one.

What if we get bosh this year and carmelo or durant next year?

Lebron James laughs at the extra 30million he could get in a sign and trade.

It's either NYC or Clevland. I don't see any chance of another team getting him.

ive never heard of lebron wanting to come to houston is what needs to happen with a sign and trade. if yao was not hurt this year and lebron did actually decide he wanted to leave i bet houston would be a top 3 consideration. but as is with yao ming in question i think its a very very long shot.

I'm sorry, but Lebron would not go to NY. His team is much better than Eddy Curry, Wilson Chandler, Toney Douglas, Bill Walker, and Gallinari.
Those are the only guys with guaranteed contracts for next year.

Mashburn said it was realistic 3 or 4 months ago I believe. And true, why not if this CB4 talk has any inkling of truth or possibility?

Personally I don't think either will happen. I'm confident we will add another piece, but to win, we're going to have to hope Yao can return to form and be that that scrappy, whole-hearted, excellent chemistry team to win against the true elite.

It'll never happen, I don't see it happening, it's just unrealistically.

I don't think Yao Ming and/or the Chinese market is that much of a pull for LerBon.

In fact, I don't think Yao Ming, alone, is that much of a pull for most elite players anymore.

I didn't hear him complaining when he was drafted by Cleveland, whats so different to start over in NY?

He would be basically the GM, he could call any of those free agents and ask them to come play with him in NY and have at least a playoff team.

You're right about it not being about Yao or the Chinese market. Lebron is alreay a star in China, and Nike is already selling specialized versions of his shoes in China only versions. Yao's questionable health also makes it hard to use him as a sure benefit.

The selling point for Houston would be the supporting cast. This is a team that finished over .500 in the west without its star player. The role players for a championship team are in place. If Yao is healthy, then that's icing on the cake. If Lebron/Bosh/Wade want to be part of an instant contender, Houston is probably their best bet.

He didn't have a choice when he was drafted by Cleveland.

What was he gonna tell the Cavs, " Yeah, yall drafted me, but I aint gonna play for yall so bench me or trade me!"

He will not go to New York unless another free agent comes here, and I seriously doubt Wade goes to NY. I can see him re-signing with the Heat and add someone like Amare or Boozer or go to Chicago.

Bosh aint going to New York for damn sure. He wants to be the quote, "Man" and will not get that oppurtunity in New York if LBJ comes there. Also, he is better off in Toronto than NY. He is either going to the Bulls or Rockets, IMO.

So I'm thinking if LerBon does a SnT, those assets or role players you speak of would most definitely be gone. I think the only sure thing might be Martin. Would Martin and Yao be a good enough selling point?

    Two factors:

    1. Odds of Bosh leaving Toronto = 100% Odds of Lebron or Wade leaving Cleveland/Miami = very small.
    2. Toronto is willing to talk S&T with Bosh because they don't need the capspace. Whereas Cleveland/Miami are less likely to.

Combine the two, and we pretty much only have a legit shot at Bosh.

It's simple. Toronto hasnt put a true playoff contender aorund bosh, so bosh has no choice, but to leave and jump on another team. Meanwhile, cleveland has done well in building a winning team around james. Sure they havent won a ring, but they are knocking on the championship door and either have enough to win it this year or will be very close. Why would lebron go from a team that's very close to another team that's very close? About equal odds to win the ring, it's not like he's going to LA. Makes no sense to leave cleveland for equal odds, especially when cleveland is home, he's setting and has set all kinds of franchise records, and they basically bend over backwards for him. He's got that franchise in his pocket and he craves greatness. Nothing better than having an Olajuwon, Kobe, MJ, Duncan, bird, or magic type of career where you wear the same uni and win rings.

Cleveland supporting casts suck!! If Lebron want to win Championship after Championship...Houston is the place to go!! Him and Yao will be dominating inside and outside.

ok if we are going to go for wishful thinking
why not imagine bosh and turk coming to houston
for jeffries, scola, battier hill and lots of picks.

if that happens our lineup looks like
    brooks/lowry
    martin/ariza
    turk/budd
    bosh/hayes
    yao/anderson

now lets say lebron is leaving, if he leaves he wants to go to a team ready to win a championship he is a winner and you know hes going to only look at teams that have what it takes to win.

we could offer martin and ariza in a sign and trade for james

why cavs do it, it keeps them young and they get 2 good players in return.
    with
    mo/delonte
    martin/parker
    ariza, moon
    jamison/hickson
    varejao/ maybe Z

that still makes them good in the east and enough promise to allow fans to even think about coming to games instead of losing james for nothing.

of course other teams would love to do sign and trades but what teams are ready to win that have enough assets for a SnT.

this of course is only possible if we could get bosh and turk
bosh could make a strong pitch to james.
    brooks/lowry
    bud/
    james/turk
    bosh/hayes
    yao/aussie

now we just need to pretend that airplanes in the night sky are shooting stars
we really need a wish right now

Honestly, it would take a miracle to land LeBron.

That being said, I don't think (nor want because of the amount of cash he will demand) to land Bosh on our team. Still baffled guys are trying to promote us doing sign and trades for this guy.

You'll have to give up more to get him.

for one thing, if Cavs loses this round he will be leaving them for sure.
