Will he be the greatest Laker of all time?

Passing up Magic, Kareem and West?

People talking about him being the greatest NBA player of all time but right now he isn't even the greatest Laker.

    Discuss.

I still think Magic is the best Laker of all time.
Put Magic in today's NBA, he would so dominate, no hand checking, all the other PGs are too short to play him.

We have to see if Kobe is introduced in the Finals as the starting center. But no, not better than Magic, Kareem, or even Shaq. I'm a hater though, and just came in here to say that someone started a thread with almost this exact title a couple of weeks ago.

Well, I think he's worthy of being in the discussion.

That would be a huge compliment to any player.

I would still put him behind Magic, Kareem, and probably Shaq.

    It goes like this IMO.

    Kareem
    Magic
    Kobe
    Shaq
    West

But you can certainly put him in argument.... the amount of records he holds for that team... individual accolades... puts him in the conversation.

As a laker, West is still the best. Kobe and Shaq doesn't happen if not for west, not to mention those pictures he has of Wallace that brought gasol over.

Or maybe it's people understanding that they're legends for a reason.

Like others have said, I think you can certainly put Kobe's name in the debate. However I think only the younger generations will ever rate him the best Laker of all timess.

Not sure about Kareem (didn't watch him play), but Magic and Shaq are above Kobe.

I really get what you mean with this. Like alot of people nowadays without ever witnessing the legends just presume they are better than todays players. But once Kobe has retired, and has been absent for quite some time, then he will join those, and people will realise just how great he was

Magic, West, Kobe, Kareem are the four in the conversation.

Wilt and Shaq were dominant but they spent a lot of time at other teams.

I think it is Magic then Kobe even if he wins a ring now.

Yeah, Shaq only won 3 rings for LA with 3 Finals MVPs. No way he belongs in the conversation. WHERE AM I?
