    As a true Rocket fan,
it disgust me to see that the Spurs might have a chance at a 3rd NBA title.
I blame the entire Rockets organization for this.
I blame that we get the worst draft picks in recent memory (minus Yao).
I blame the Rockets for not resigning ROBERT HORRY.
Remember when they said that The Rockets vs Knicks ruined the league? Imagine the score between Spurs vs Pistons? The game will be 60-70 pts per team!

I hate this! Damn Manu's flopping.

i can only hope the pistons stop them. i never thought i'd be rooting for the pistons when this year started. i hated that an east team beat a west team, i hated all the "team" talk as if one "team" team negated 25 years of "superstars" winning, and it just seemed fluky. but since i don't have any real thing to hate about them and since none of their players have legacies to compare to hakeem's, and i won't really have to here about a pistons championship to much in my everyday life, then i can handle them winning. san antonio winning would be unbearable.

I was thinking about this the other day. My watching interest for the possible Finals matchups:

Phoenix vs Miami - I would want to catch every game of this series
Phoenix vs Detroit - Not as compelling to me to watch, but I would still tune in and try to catch each game; however, not a must-see like Phoenix-Miami
San Antonio vs Miami - It would be fun to watch Shaq go up against Duncan again, but this is definitely the 3rd option out of 4 here. I would probably casually keep up with it but not find myself really looking to watch the games.
San Antonio vs Detroit - I think I would rather watch "Lost" or "The OC" or even "Desperate Housewives" than this series.:p

Game 1 of the Spurs Pistons Finals
    Score 3 to 8

    Game 2
    Score 1 to 5

    Game 3
    Score 0 to 3

    Game 4
    Score 1 to 2

I think base running will be super important in this series......

It can be better than the Spurs-Nets Finals a couple of years ago. :p

    You guys are crazy.

A Spurs-Pistons matchup would be really intriguing. The defending champ who is showing a champion's heart vs the best team in the west who is also playing with championship metal.

The Pistons aren't the Nets. They have role players that are just as deadly as the Spurs role players.

It's also a change of the times. The Pistons ended Phil Jackson's undefeated Finals series record last year, and they are going to do the same to Robert Horry this year. At least that is what I hope happens. Seeing Horry and Duncan losing in the Finals with the Spurs would be fulfilling for this NBA fan.

I blame the entire Rockets organization for that Elvin Hayes for Jack Marin trade.

I'm, gonna love the Piston vs Spurs if it actually happens. It will be a slow grind it out match to show a true testament of a defensive team. It will be like a boxing match.

Walt Fraizer was on Mike and Mike this morning and he said if Phoenix wins the championship it will be bad for the NBA b/c teams will try to emulate them and that mean no one will wants to play defense which he said is what win championship. I agree with him here, but I'm not sure about it being bad for the NBA part. I thought people likes the run and gun style? Maybe its bad for the game of the NBA and how it should be played but business wise Phoenix would help that aspect if they were to reach the Finals with Miami.

The Pistons will win in 6.

I'm looking forward to this series. I don't think it will be that low of a score. Perhaps something more like 75-85 points ( )

Of the 4 possible combinations, a Pistons-Spurs Final is the most desireable for me. As impressed as I am with the way Pho has changed the game, I still don't like to see them win. Besides, if not Houston, I'd still like to see someone in Texas succeed. And Miami's okay, but I'm a bit tired of seeing Shaq in the finals.

I agree. At least both of these teams will have a shot to win.

i dont want s.a. in there b/c of their fans. i work in s.a. a week or so a month and drive around listening to sports radio, which is horrible, even by austin standards. all they have there is the spurs and they beat it to death. they are the most unknowledgeable basketball fans. a bunch of housewives who only started liked them after they won their first title. they know nothing about basketball.

their fans are such whiney little pansies who all season have been talking as if the spurs are guaranteed the title. in the first round they were already talking about who they would rather face - detroit or miami.

when malik rose was traded people were calling up crying about it. literally in tears on the phone. some questioned whether or not they would have won their titles w/out him! some said they would be turning in their season tickets! IDIOTS.

i like the spurs organization - class all the way, but i cant stand their fans.

Spurs-Pistons would actually be a great matchup. I would happily watch each game.
Also, I really don't want to see the Detroit fans treated to another championship. They've been very naughty this season.

I'm rooting for Spurs-Heat. Would be the most interesting matchup, imo, with the best players.

Well I kind of want to see a Spurs/Pistons matchup. So that when Yao and T-mac get some help, they can swoop in with their widespread popularity, and potentially devastating offensive production, and "Save the League" from such horror as Spurs/Pistons. Errr.... or something like that.

San Antonio/Detroit would be the best finals matchup their has been in years. The games will all be hard fought, close games. Light years ahead of last years matchup...the only thing that got people watching last year was the damn soap opera in LA.

Those years the Nets were in the finals truly were boring. You knew they had no chance of even making it a series. Before that you had Lakers/Sixers and Lakers/Pacers, which were okay to watch for me but weren't much of a contest. Spurs/Pistons would probably be the most competitive series since the Bulls/Jazz...and even those weren't all that close.
