I was wondering if Yao has been ruled out, and they got the injury exception, does Yao count as one of the 15 players, or is there an exception that allows the Rockets to keep Yao and carry 15 other players? Thanks DD
I take it McGrady will count as part of the 15-man roster? Damn. I forget sometimes that he's still part of the team. So right now, we've potentially got: 1 Brooks 2 Ariza 3 Battier 4 Scola 5 Andersen 6 Landry 7 Lowry 8 Hayes 9 Budinger 10 Taylor 11 Dorsey 12 Barry 13 Cook 14 McGrady 15 Yao If we don't count Yao, we can fit in White or Wafer.
Nope, he and T-Mac are still on the roster. Wexler was going over this on 610. Right now there's 16 on the roster, so someone's getting cut.
i remember way back when MoTaylor was injured and we got an exception for him, we were able to field 16. (I think we signed or traded for weatherspoon?)
I would not be surprised if we buyout Barry and possibly Dorsey or Hayes....based upon those players. DD
there is no way in hell they are getting rid of hayes. He's too good at what he does and a bargain at his salary level. I see white getting cut and barry being bought out or them asking the league to field 16.
When talking about the Andersen pick up, Gersson Rosas referred to Chuck Hayes like 4 or 5 times as being someone who'll work well in combination with David. And he brought up Chuck's name on his own -- the host never mentioned Chuck. That tells me the Rockets value Chuck Hayes too much to just buy him out. If its between him and Dorsey, Dorsey would probaby get cut. But my guess is that they both stay, and Barry and/or Cook are released or traded.
16 player roster. I got a question. So what happen when Yao return? Rox continue with 16 player for the rest of the season, or release someone to let yao "rejoin" the team?
There is no way we would buy out Hayes... We either trade him or keep him outright, he has a lot of trade value because of his defensive abilities.
If they bring back Wafer, they'll probably ask Taylor to go overseas for a year. If they really need to clear a spot Dorsey and Barry would be the first to go.
Trading a player for 2nd round pick could be way to go. Another solution is simply waive James White(I believe only part of his contract is guarantee or buy out player like Barry or Cook.
No way this is correct. If the guy is under contract, then he's on the roster. Guys that sign with the rockets and get sent down to the NBDL are on the roster. Guys who are out for the year, and you don't cut them are on the roster. There's a 15 man roster and Yao and Tracy are on it until they get cut, bought out, traded or retired.
