Isiah Thomas. Although Steve is bigger than Zeke and has more hops than Zeke ever had, their games are very similiar. Both have freakish handles. Both are unbelievably fast and have the will to win at all cost. Steve is not as polished as Zeke was at the same point in their respective careers but he's not far from him. Those of you who saw Zeke play would say that Zeke is probably one of the best PG's to ever handle the rock. Holla back!!!

    No way...not, yet.

Isiah drove the lane. Francis goes baseline much more, too much. Rudy looks to be trying his best at getting Francis into the lane, but Francis is taking it upon himself to go baseline, instead.

Francis will NEVER get 13 apg like Isiah until he learns to get into the middle of the lane at a higher clip like Isiah. To do that, he must trust his teammates and the system and quite using the baseline and his athleticism as a crutch.

I know; I know: The defenses are designed not to let Francis into the middle of the lane. But, so were the defenses against Isiah.

    HeyPee,

While I agree that Steve doesn't drive the lane as much, I'm looking at pure ability and Steve has that type of ability that Isiah had. I also agree that he like the baseline a lot, but I think that's from him playing 2 guard in college. The more he get comfortable with the point the more he'll come from the top of the key.

If I had to pick a PG to compare Stevie to it would be more in-his-prime Timmy Hardaway or KJ. But way more athletic, with better hops.

A little mouse, because Cat will get very excited when they begin to play together.

A maker of Smucker's jelly....because he's going to be making a lot of jams.

A bride, because he's going to be handed a bunch of rings.

A rack of BBQ...because when he gets thrown into the pit he's going to be looking real good. And everybody will want a piece of him.

We saw Francis drive the lane last night. Remember the play where Francis runs across the lane on the baseline, then curls around a pick and can either shoot a free throw length jumper or drive the lane.

IIRC, last night Francis got doubleteamed coming down the lane and dished to someone for a missed layup.

Maybe you can draw that play up for us, HP...

Big Dog, I am right with you. When I think of a great point guard to use in comparison with Francis, Zeke, definitely comes to mind. Francis is like Zeke with superior athletic ability. What made Isaiah great was his all-around game. The only difference I see is that Thomas will have an edge in passing (assists), while Francis will have an edge in scoring (after Francis's career is complete). Besides that, they seem to be mirror images of each other. Francis is showing better leadership in recent games, and will get even better. They both have shown extraordinary skill in multiple areas for a point guard. For ex.) rebounding, free throw ability, quickness and hustle. While Isaiah and (after his career is done) Francis will never be the best scoring point guard or the best passing point guard, or even the best rebounding point guard, they will have made their mark for being one of the best all-around point guards, and there is something to be said about rare players like these.

does anyone else think that zeke is a jackass. he hit people during games, froze players out at all star games, and is not good at accepting facts. i hope that noone on the rockets is ever like that(besides pip). I would just be embarrassed.

also, steve might come close to zeke's assists numbers. right now because we make too many passes many times steve sets up a great play but another player on the floor gets the assist.

Yes, Zeke had times of being a jackass, but who isn't a jackass sometimes...May he who has never been a jackass cast the first stone.

I know that but Allen and Steve look like twins on the court
because they play so much alike.
