If he wins a SB this year, is Brady the best QB ever.

It would be 5 superbowls with 4 rings. Add that to all the single season records, and it adds up to be a pretty good argument that he is the best ever.

It's either him or Joe Montana, and I wouldn't argue with anyone who picked Brady.

    nope.

All his previous Superbowls have *'s by them.
If Barry Bonds gets an * for cheating [which was not proven]
. . . then so do the Patriots [which was proven]

    Joe Montana. . . I think he went 4 for 4

The niners cheated also. They were circumventing the salary cap.

He will be in the conversation for top 5 of all-time. You could make a strong argument he has made more with less but my choice is still Montana.

I'm still a Montana guy. Another SB win by Brady gets him in the conversation. A worthy debate.

I hope the conversation about who is better between him and Manning is over.

Why? Because the Colts took a step back this year? Unlike a lot of people, I put more weight on individual accomplishments than I do team accomplishments when comparing players, especially in a sport like football.

Brady's enjoyed a much more stout run game and defense over the years. This year is more the exception, but that defensive unit in NE has really come together, the way Indy's did in the playoffs of their SB run.

I said that before this year and I put weight on how a player performs in the postseason too.

Manning has 20000 more yards and about 150 more TD and has never missed a game. If you were drafting a QB he would be the prototypical qb. When he is done playing he will have every passing record there is.

Manning will have more passing records, but Brady will have more Super Bowls rings.

could this possibly be because he came into the nfl several years before Brady?

Fair enough, but from a purely statistical standpoint, their postseason numbers are very similar (same number of games, TD's, and roughly the same completion %, number of attempts and passer rating) except that Peyton has thrown for 1,000 more yards while also throwing 4 more INTs than Brady.

Possibly, Peyton has played 63 more games (Brady also missed almost an entire season). But Brady would have to average 317 yards and 2.2 TDs per game for 63 games to match Peyton's current totals, so that gap is impressive regardless.

I just want to point out that I'm not necessarily advocating for Manning over Brady, it's debatable. I just don't think it's as clear cut as others do and am playing "Devil's Advocate". Peyton has the advantage as far as stats, awards, and records. Brady has the advantage as far as winning % and rings. It's just a matter of how much weight you give to which areas.

How many years did Brady ride the pine behind the Statue?

If Brady wins the Super Bowl this year, he will already be the best ever.
