If Bill freaking O`Reilly can finally admit it, what is it gonna take for the rest of you right-wingers to admit it? Why would you support an investigation of this that wouldn't be concluded before the election? Although I do see the path right-wingers are going, setting Tenet up as the fall guy since he was from Clinton...but it is nice to see that even this idiot isn't 100% blind. Pundit O'Reilly Now Skeptical About Bush Tue Feb 10, 9:25 AM ET WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq (news - web sites) had weapons of mass destruction. The anchor of his own show on Fox News said he was sorry he gave the U.S. government the benefit of the doubt that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s weapons program poised an imminent threat, the main reason cited for going to war. "I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans should be concerned about this," O'Reilly said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America." "What do you want me to do, go over and kiss the camera?" asked O'Reilly, who had promised rival ABC last year he would publicly apologize if weapons were not found. O'Reilly said he was "much more skeptical about the Bush administration now" since former weapons inspector David Kay said he did not think Saddam had any weapons of mass destruction. While critical of President Bush (news - web sites), O'Reilly said he did not think the president intentionally lied. Rather, O'Reilly blamed CIA (news - web sites) Director George Tenet, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton (news - web sites). "I don't know why Tenet still has his job." He added: "I think every American should be very concerned for themselves that our intelligence is not as good as it should be." O'Reilly anticipated the presidential election would be a close race, adding he thought Democratic front-runner Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) of Massachusetts would be a formidable opponent against Bush. "It will be a very close race. The nation is divided," he said.
Bill O'Reilly was a reporter for Entertainment Tonight before he landed on Faux News. That speaks volumes to me. Why anyone would take anything he says without an enormous grain of salt is beyond me.
There are all kinds. Pat Buchanan has admitted that trying to say that the pre-war aegument for invasion stands is without legs. He hasn't changed loyalties...he's advising a switch to emphasis on what a bad guy Saddam was as a better sell...but even he is willing to face some facts. The kind of Ostrich Brigade acting like you've never heard the facts tactic...again and again...doesn't work as well when you're in the spotlight, it just makes you look like an idiot.
Pat Buchannan, Bill O'Reilly, who's next, Rush Limbaugh? I'm glad you 've found some poster-boys of right-wingers who don't agree with bush. These guys just barely reach the michael moore threshhold for sanity, so i'm not sure why'd you'd want to trumpet their POVs.
Bill O`Reilly and Rush Limbaugh have the highest rated shows of their kind....to dismiss their POV as meaningless is dishonest.
I think you're overestimating the people who listen to Rush and watch O'Reilly. They don't have big ratings because of fart jokes and p*rn stars, so people aren't watching/listening for ****s and giggles...well most of them aren't.
Since when does anyone care what 'forehead boy' has to say about anything. Besides, I supported the war because I think it was the right thing to do, not because I thought sadaam had a nuke under his bed.
O'Reilly is not a conservative! Even he says it. link Bill O'Reilly was never on Entertainment Tonight, ever. More demonization and outright fabrications from the left.
Bill O`Reilly has registered as a Republican in at least two different counties...and that is a fact. He champions Republican viewpoints on a Republican news stations.. there is no fabrication here......honest mistake on RMTex's part I am sure, ET and Inside Edition are both on the same end of the journalism scale
I never knew there was a difference between Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight. I mean, crap is crap, is it not?
It's a good day to be a liberal. But O'Reilly agrees with you and he's still an "idiot?" Nice. Have it both ways. btw- who said that republican types didn't want a quick investigation? The quicker the better... it means less was hidden than the libs think.
It's a good day to wear blinders, eh IROC it? O'Reilly has a long way to go before he sheds the idiot label he has rightfully earned. This is just a start.
