I love the dream, but if he told us before the rocks might've thought differently in the draft.. seeing as though there was a surplus of centers in the draft.. Also saw in a toronto column that the raptors at one stage were willing to trade hakeem a while back for the number 1 draft pick.. I guess no one can foresee what was going to happen and i know the dream would never hurt the rocks.. anyways what do you guys think?.. did he leave it too long

btw if eddie thinks he's playin power forward he better get on the steroids quick.. heh

According to Jeff talking to Rudy, Eddie is playing 4 offensively and 3 defensively and MO is opposite of that

I think we still would have traded for Eddie but I question wheter we would have traded up (next years #1) for T-mo. We may have traded up but to take another C who was more of a project in the early 2nd round but I definetely think we would have done anything to get Eddie.

According to several people, including Jim Boylen in person, the Rockets would have taken Griffin if they had the first pick, no matter what... They're really sold on the kid...

They feel he's the type of player you just can't pass on....

We didn't trade our #1 next year. We traded one owed to us -- I believe Detroit's via Philly.

    Juan-
It's a #1 none the less. And (I believe) next year was when it was due, so I never said "our" #1, just next years #1.

Keeping in mind that the level of talent coming from the college ranks is decreasing each subsequent year, I don't think it was a bad move giving up a late first rounder for a player once considered 'lottery material'.

My hopes aren't too high for Morris. Hopefully he develops into our defensive stopper that's able to provide a timely bucket here and there, with the worst case scenario being he doesn't pan out, and sits on the bench with the rest of the small forwards we've accumulated.

Another thing to consider, is that Williams isn't likely to be retained, Bullard will retire soon, and Langhi and or Morris will likely not pan out. In other words, the Morris acquisition isn't of relevance right now, for we won't know his true value until 2 or 3 years down the road. As for the present, he's just an insurance policy in case Shandon leaves, and gives us more depth.

Rudy likes versatile players as well. Given the new rules ie: checking your man, Morris may even be able to guard 3 positions ala Lewis.

Just to clarify, Rudy didn't tell me this. Someone who would know told me that this is the Rockets coaching staff's position on the matter.
