If Brown keeps this up, he could be like Jones, last year

Just when Jones thought he was a lock to make the team last year he got waived. We later found out that Detroit was interested and the team was doing him a favor. Now it seems that it was easier for the team to do him a favor based on the presence of Brown who more than held his own last year and is have a great summer to date. I would not be surprised if another team asks the rockets to let Brown go. It seems like he is ready for more playing time which we cannot give him and we now have in Maddox a replacement for Brown.

By the way, although, Jones played well last year, he seem to be on the outside again. Detroit went strongly after Chauncey B. Not to be detered, Jones is probably the best pg this summer in california and should get another shot somewhere. I am amazed at the number of teams still needing a point guard if you go based on team needs according to ESPN Insider.

I dunno about everybody else here but I'd ratha see tha Rockets let Tierre go and hold onto Maddox. In my eyes Tierre will neva be more than a decent backup PG...Maddox has tha size and obvious ability to turn into a legit starter. When watchin tha summer leauge performances u gotta factor in that Tierre has been in tha system for a whole year now and is much more comfortable operatin inside of it. Maddox jus showed up and is prolly seein all this for tha first time plus he's been outta organized ball for atleast a year which will jus add to his learnin curve. And o yea....Eddie been wreckin.

Actually I think Maddox has been playing in some pro league last year. I'd rather have Tierre, but it's not like Maddox would be bad to have. Tierre can score better obviously and has handles just as good. I think his passing skills are pretty underrated as well. He did have 7 assists in a game where he's really looking to score...Tierre might be more comfortable, but I don't think they really have a system going on in the SL. Anyways, either Maddox or Tierre would be fine but I still prefer Tierre...

I don't really care which one of them makes the team, because they are only going to be the third string point guard. We still have Moochie Norris, and as long as we have him, it won't matter much who is our third string point guard. Now if we traded Moochie away, it would be a different story.

I may have been misunderstood but I neva once said Maddox was a betta playa than Tierre...b'c at tha present time he's prob. not but tha point i was tryin to get across that is...the rockets have seen what tierre can do, while good its not star material...a player of his size will neva be a dominant force (Iverson is an exception)...besides we already have two ball and shot controlin PG's in Steve and tha Mooch...we desperately need a guard in tha lineup who is not lookin to take every shot and get everyone involved.

Although i know it wont happen I think Maddox would be a good fit to put on tha court along with EG and Ming seein how they both seem to be players who aren't going to go out and get the ball...EG seems to fade away and become a non factor with Steve and Cuttino takin the majority of the shots. I'm assuming Ming will be alot the same way seein as how he's comin from China a very team oriented situation and wont want to upset team chemistry. I think it would benefit both of them to play with a pass first PG lookin to get them the ball.

I jus really think it would be a shame to let Tito's talent go to waste by releasin him and neva lettin him show what he can do against top level competition.

Tito is destined for a lower back strain.

tmega you have a point. I thing right along with you but I feel sure that we will have a new game plan this season! Steve Francis becomes a Point Guard full time, now that he will have competent players and scorers to make assists to.

i agree with this. whichever one makes the team, welcome aboard but my hope is that neither gets significant minutes becasue we can stay healthy. with a possibility of depth at the 3 i hope mooch's minutes are cut as well.

You see the thing is Tierre does look to get everyone involved when he's playing NBA games. He's trying to prove he can score as well (and doing a fine job) in the summer league. He has already shown his hustle, quickness, great handles and pushing the tempo successfully(most of the time)...

Tito does have potential, but the fact is it's only a 3rd string PG.
Tito has nice size, handles, and passing, but I don't see why he would end up being any better than Tierre other than due to his height. Tierre is a better scorer, but he does everything else just as good also.

Honestly, I think Moochie is good but way overpaid. We should trade him for a back-up SG and keep Tierre...

Damon Jones is now playing with the Clippers Summer Team. Hopefully, he sticks.
