OK, I'll state the obvious for the millionth time right at the start. This team has personell problems. We all know what they are and how we would like the organization to fix these. We have heard many rumors the last few weeks of the Rockets pursuing different players so, it seems, as if CD is trying to fix this team's problems.

My question for you guys is, if a trade will go down this season (which seems likely at least one will), will CD:

    a) WAIT TILL THE TRADE DEADLINE. Possibly make what little trade assets they have even a little more valuable, but risks being completetly out of the playoff picture by then.

    or

    b) MAKE A DEAL WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS OR SO. May not get as much out of certain trade assets (except for maybe 1st-roun pick) but could get one or two players to get this team into the playoffs.

So, what do you guys think will happen?

Personally I wish they could make some deals to get the rotation I have for them in ESPN2K5, but that is pipe dreaming. :)

    Wesley/Barrett
    TMac/Sura
    JJ/Boki
    Kwame Brown/PJ Brown
    Yao/Deke

a trade with the hornets isnt too far fetched.

    lue, boki, mo, TE, pick

    for

    brown, wesley, lynch

its not perfect but it gets us to the playoffs and gives us some tradable assets.

    yao-deke-spoon
    pj-jh-pad
    jj-lynch-bowen
    tmac-sura-gaines
    wes-ward-ab

to answer the thread's question, i think CD will try to make a trade ASAP. i would like to add if we don't make a trade to improve we will not be in the playoffs we won't even finnish with more than 42W's.

The Rockets have no trade leverage. We don't decide to trade with other teams, other teams have to decide whether or not to deal with them.

We don't have anything to give teams except bad contracts and old players that don't play well anymore. Something has to be done for sure, all this crap is old.

who cares where they come from? they are better than the players going out.

would you honestly tell me right now that you would turn down pj for mo? or lue and boki (who have done nothing) for lynch who is a good perimeter defender/rebounder. what about the TE for wesley? old or not he can shoot and be a nice 3rd scorer.

if you are waiting for a dreamcasted trade for a young rebounding PF, don't hold your breath. we have nothing to offer anyone. these guys may not look too good but they give us what we need and they are tradable.

Brown is a good rebounder, i agree, but he is a not so good offensive players, startting him along with yao which opposite teams to collapse on yao. This is the reason we traded away cato.
Wesley is just too old and his deense is questionable...
Lynch is just another Bowen's clone....

I will rather trade JJ, boki plus whatever denver want fro Nene and Rodney white!!

I think thats kind of unfair to say because Baron Davis has only played 5 games this season and everything revolves around him and his playmaking skills. Don't forget that last year they were .500 and the year before that they were .573. Its not like they have been a bad NBA team for years. I agree though about them being old. They are all around 35 years old. We are already the oldest team in the league, so I think what we need is some young experienced players that can come in and bring some hustling energy.

Actually Brown has a pretty good jumper and is a decent rebounder. Teams will not be able to collapse on Yao. Right now, with Howard or Mo on the floor, teams still collapse on Yao and T-mac and dare the other guys to shoot. Wesley is a good shooter and I think somewhat of an upgrade. Lynch is a scorer and thats what we need. I wouldn't mind Nene or White; chances are, we won't get either.

    let them keep losing

    get a good lottery pick....

Yao and T-Mac are young enough to make a 2-3 year plan.

I would hate to see us panic and be stuck with more unreasonable contracts

Please don't post pretending to know about players. PJ is a solid shooter out to 15 feet. I'd take him shooting that shot over anyone else on this team outside TMac and JJ right now.

Wesley is a very good shooter. His age isn't hurting that. His defense isn't great, but it's not bad at the 1 spot.

Lynch can shoot..oh..let's say 50030340 times better than Bowen? He's shown 3 pt range in his career, can stick a midrange, and forces people at least to come out. Bowen can get the ball on rotation and allow teams to catch up by not guarding him.

Your trade with Denver will never happen...so I like the 1st one.

If the Rox are looking to deal, they need to get a pass first PG that can make the rest of our scrubs better by setting them up. It will never, never happen but TJ Ford would be perfect for this team (when healthy). Guys like TJ are able to turn scrubs like James Thomas into all conference players. We need someone to make the game easier for our crap.

banking on a lotto pick is too risky, esp with our history. JVg doesn't play young guys anyway.

i don't think we need a pass first PG either. i think we need a PG to can get some steals and play good D. tmac is the creator on offense when he gets doubled and kicks it out that guy has to be able to hit the 3 every friggin time. that means the PG and SF have to be great shooters.
