Ideal Trading Partners for Asik (Assuming We Get Howard)

    First of all, please lock if needed.

    I was thinking of the possibilities of what we should do with Omer Asik if we were indeed to land Howard. I just don't think you keep him as a backup, seeing as Howard would get so many minutes anyway.

    Watching this Boston game, I would LOVE to trade for Garnett. The Celtics could possibly go into a partial rebuild mode and trade him. Asik would fill in at the center spot with an awesome salary, and is fairly young. Our defense would be so damn good with Howard and KG on the front line. KG could even play minutes at center while Howard rests. I am well aware KG has a no trade clause as well, but coming to a team with Howard and Harden would be pretty hard to pass up.

    Another option I like is his old running mate in Orlando Ryan Anderson. His ability to stretch the floor would be important to give Howard his space and shooters everywhere on the outside. New Orleans would be able to move Anthony Davis to PF as well.

    Garnett and Dirk are too old and are likely to retire with their teams. Pau is too old and busted as well.

    Ryan Anderson would be good, but it's hard to see them trading him for Asik. Maybe if we added some rookies, but I'm not sure how much value our young guys have around the league. Same goes for LaMarcus Aldridge and Kevin Love.

    The most realistic possibility would be to sign and trade for Josh Smith, Paul Millsap, or Al Jefferson. And I personally think Millsap would be a great fit.

    Under the radar option: Ersan Ilyasova. He's like a better version of Patrick Patterson.

    to ATL in sign and trade for Josh Smith.
    Then, Horford can move to natural position of PF.

    I don't think any player is too old if they still contribute and you are in a championship window.

    Kevin Love would be too perfect, but one can hope.

    Millsap is intriguing, he can stretch the floor decently and has a good motor, but how is his defense?

    I've always felt Dwight's natural position is PF. If we can afford it, we should definitely keep Asik if we land Dwight.

    We can give Howard the max without moving Lin/Asik by trading T-Rob and declining Garcia's and Delfino's TO.

    Agree. Rockets acquired Asik while still trying to trade for Howard. If Tickets hit Howard, They would have 48 min of room protection. it works be difficult to give that up unless for a star.

    Glad you agree.

    The Davis-Asik defensive dynamic would be insane. Plus Asik could help with developing any young centers they draft.

    Anderson is the best shoong big man in the game. He would be draining those corner 3s that Motie and Jones can't make. He is fairly quick, though I'm not sure how well he is on defense. Not to mention he is an old acquaintance of Howard.
