Idea: scrap the UN, form a Federation.

Ok, all you Trekkies should like this one.

In all of my recent posting about the potential war, I've noticed many of you who have no respect for the UN. I have to say that I don't completely disagree with you rearding your opinions about the UN.

They do seem to be a lot of talkers with no power to change anything.

So I propose this:

Scrap the UN and form a true World Federation. (I know this will never happen, but play along.)

The Federation would be comprised of the actual leaders of all participating countries. None of this ambassador crap. We're talking actual leaders who can actually make things happen.

All leaders would be required to attend a weekend summit every 3 months. These meetings should be televised so that the public knows what's going on. The meetings would be held in a secret location each time so that all of the world leaders could not be blown to bits!

Here's the hard part. There would need to be a leader of sorts to keep everyone in check. I'm thinking a mediator-type person. Some one who would lead the meetings and make sure that no one Nation dominates the floor (or the world). This person would represent the whole world, but would not be considered the leader of the world. You know what I'm saying?

I bring this up in jest partially, but also somehwta serious.

I guess this is my attempt to suggest a solution to the problem that everyone has with the UN. What better way to solve the world's problems than to actually have the World's leaders work it out. Because, like it or not, there needs to be an organization that represents the World.

Now let's have some fun and work out the details of this organization. How would you go about starting this Federation and what guidelines or rules would you implement?
