I have an idea for next year, but I'm going to need a lot of help to pull this off. I want to make a 29-team league, with two conferences, so it would technically be considered two leagues. Each owner would pick an actually NBA team to own. The importance of the team you pick is that the draft order will be determined by final standings this year. I'll get to the other importance of the team later.

Since there will be two "leagues", but 1 pool of players, the league will be very dependant on transactions being posted on a BBS. One league will have 14 teams and the other will have 15. No player can be on two teams, even though he will be a free agent in one league.

The scoring system will be head to head, with playoffs, and the league champs in both leagues playing against each other the final week. If we can use software instead of Yahoo then maybe we can set it up for some conference matchups.

I would like to start the draft sometime between March and May, since it will be a 29-team draft for 12 players. Rookies will be drafted after the summer leagues and before teams open for camp. The draft order will be based on the how the teams finished, except the Twolves will still have their first round, and teams that traded away picks will still have them. (IE, Rockets traded a 2nd round pick for Willis, but they will still have it for this fantasy league.) After both drafts, all free agents will be on waivers for 1 week, and the waiver order will be randomly set. I'll work out the details on this part in the next couple of months.

Where I need the most help with is finding 29 active owners, 2-4 commissioners to help with all the duties, and ideas for how to make this league a success. I'd like to also have this as a keeper league, where you can keep between 3 and 5 players from season to season. I also would like some discussion about categories to be included. Ideally I'd like to have around 13-15 categories so no team will sweep all the categories, or it should happen rarely. Rosters will be set at 14, and will have to be cut to 12 one week before the season starts.

This idea needs a lot of work, but I'd like some feedback to determine if there is enough interest and ideas how to make it better. Thanks for the help in advance!
