... because I'm sick and tired of the freaking Spurs, who have shown no heart, no desire, no nothing! Spurs suck!!! Let the Lakers win today and rest a week and go to the finals and then get killed by the Bucks! Go Bucks! Go Sammy! I can't wait to see someone beating the Lakers! But it won't be the Spurs! The Clippers can do a better job! ------------------ Technically speaking, we're #1! ~Portland fans
No no! The Lakers musn't be allowed to go 15-0 in the playoffs- we'll never hear the end of it from NBC! Go Spurs! (you heartless bunch of geriatric ****bags better get a frickin win for once) ------------------ The Protrolls.com message boards! Protrolls.com! Home of Turn, Tweak, and all your demented favorites!
If the Spurs couldn't do it, do you think the Bucks have a chance? I don't, the Spurs are the superior playoff team and they've been rolled like a spherical object. The Bucks are toast. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. I think the Bucks might have a chance to win a game or two, but definitely not the series. They did go 2-0 against the Lakers in the regular season, but since then the Lakers are an entirely different team with great chemistry. If Allen, Cassell and Robinson are all hot in a certain game then the Bucks have a decent chance of winning it. ------------------ [This message has been edited by SteveFrancis3 (edited May 27, 2001).]
Puedlfor at least the Bucks will be slinging rocks at the Goliath's. The Spurs tried to tackle its ankles. I say the Bucks might get one rock in, and maybe a miracle can fell the Goliath.
Well, maybe I sounded too radical in my post ... I mean the Lakers will still be the champ, but at least they won't go 15-0. The Bucks will take at least 2 games from them ... the Bucks have something the Spurs don't have -- HEART! My fearless prediction is if the Rockets were to play the Lakers, we would have taken a game, much less a 39-point loss. That is digusting! ------------------ Technically speaking, we're #1! ~Portland fans
I did not mean to suggest that the Lakers would sweep the Bucks, certainly a team with Milwaukee's offensive firepower should be able to win at least one game, but the Lakers are playing with an almost inhuman methodicalness(If it wasn't a word before, it is now). To beat the Lakers, the Bucks would need each of the Big Three to fire on all cylinders and significant contributions from players like Ervin Johnson(Hassle O'Neal) and Lindsey Hunter(Outside shooting). I do not believe that they can do that, because they have not done it yet, and the Lakers are playing nasty defense. Especially against jump shooters. The Bucks cannot exploit the Lakers biggest weaknessess, they will be matching up strength against strength and I think the Lakers are stronger. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Bucks game isn't strength, it's speed. They're going to try to run the Lakers, and as fast as the Lakers are they are no where near as fast as the Bucks. And if the Big 3 are clicking, and the Bucks are hitting from the perimeter then they could definitely win the NBA Championship. The Lakers are a good defensive team, but they haven't played a team like the Bucks, not even Sacramento, in the playoffs. And when they did play them during the season the Lakers had trouble with them. ------------------ See the three, be the three.
I did not mean to imply that the Bucks game was prefaced on strength, only that the Bucks strength(jump-shooting) would run head on into Lakers strength(perimeter defense). And I think the Lakers defense will win the day especially since I do not think they will be able to slow down the Lakers potent offense. The Lakers are playing at a level above the rest of the NBA right now, like the Terminator, they just wipe out everything in their path with a precision unmatched by the rest of the NBA. The Spurs also seemed to playing at a level above that of the remainder of the NBA, as they had dispatched their two foes relatively easily. But the Lakers have destroyed the Spurs, ripped their still-beating heart from their chest and left them shadows of their former selves. With only two notable exceptions, the Spurs quit on this series, becoming the third time in this playoffs that the Lakers opponent has mostly quit against them. Once could be a coincidence, Twice you begin to wonder, but when it happens three times - be afraid. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. You'll get your wish about a sweep today Rocketability, it's garbage time with about 5 and a half minutes left in the first half ! San Antonio, the Heart of a Chump As for what the Lakers did, the Kings were playing with a banged up Webber who couldn't even jump, the Trailblazers quit months ago, and the Spurs rolled over after blowing a big lead on their homecourt. That's why I don't think the Lakers are invincible, and why I think the Bucks can beat them. ------------------ See the three, be the three. Barkley's hilarious. The only way the Bucks or Sixers could beat the Lakers is if NBC rigs one of the games. ------------------ Sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here...
This is ridiculous, the Lakers are doing whatever they want. It looks like the ushers are warming up on the sidelines. Thats sort of my point though, you can make an excuse for one team. You can stretch that excuse for a second team. But when three teams in a row, one of them as poised and professional as the Spurs, get absolutely crushed this way . . . At what point do the excuses stop? Three teams in a row. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors.
