I was lol at this excerpt from a Chronicle article and thought I would share. Picturing it all go down just about brought me to tears! Surf

    Cooler heads

A couple of Brad Ausmus' clever teammates taped a water cooler to his chair in the clubhouse, teasing him for his habit of beating up the cooler after a frustrating at-bat.

Ausmus was in prime form Thursday night, when he went 0-for-4 and stranded five runners. After leaving the bases loaded in the seventh inning, he smashed the cooler to the ground and accidentally filled Moises Alou's batting helmet with water while scattering ice all over the bat rack.

"It's just when I get upset with myself," joked Ausmus, who hates it when the cooler is put back up immediately after he drops it. "It's easier to hit a cooler than myself."

The pranksters requested anonymity, but Alou and Jeff Bagwell jokingly chastised their good friend.

"It's very disappointing, especially when you finish and are real thirsty but there is no water in the cooler," Alou said. "It's even more disappointing when you go get your helmet, and it's all wet inside when you put it on."

Bagwell also said it was disappointing to see Ausmus leave him without water. Craig Biggio supported Ausmus, though he did tell Ausmus "he could have scooped the ice" from the bat rack.
