I happen to be outside when the ice cream and passes by and I stop him to browse his selection. It occured to me that a majority of the items are not sold in stores. Are these popsicles sold exclusively on ice cream trucks only? I guess I just have too much time on my hands.
i'm not educated on the distribution patters of ice cream novelties enough to comment with any certainty.
I'm your ice cream man, stop me when I'm passin' by. See now all my flavors are guaranteed to satisfy.
Anyone else remember those crappy "Snow Cones" that the ice-cream man sold? They were just a sold block of ice with some color on it and a nasty gumball at the bottom.. The crap I used to eat when I was younger makes me sick now looking back..
This is the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title, aah the memories : http://youtube.com/watch?v=ECGVjQXvXlM&search=eddie%20murphy%20ice%20cream
Here's what I know. The Gumball eye flavor line that he has is sold at Toys R Us. Such as the spiderman head with gumball eyes, the spongebob head with gumball and theres other characters, mostly superhero or Nicktoons, that have gumball heads as well. It's been a long time since I stopped an Ice cream guy so my knowledge of the other styles are not coming to mind. My guess is though you might be able to find the other stlyes at stores that are not grocery stores but are geared somewhat towards kids. I believe Chuck E Cheese has an Ice Cream machine that carries some of the products unique to many ice cream men but I am not absolutely positive.
What about the popsicle that looks like a foot? It has a piece of gum as a toenail. I only see the ice cream man sell that one.
Not unique to ice cream trucks, but I love me some push-ups. They used to be Flintstone, orange-flavored push-ups but I'm sure they're something else now. Kinda like sherbert on a stick.
Screwball... I still make an occasional purpose... this thread made me think of Big Worm from Friday...

Hi there, everybody. We're the Modern Lovers. We're gonna sing about the ice cream man for you. Well now, ice cream man, upon my street I heard your truck outside, it's really neat. Ice cream man, upon my block Your little chimes, they reel and they rock. Ice cream man, ring your bell. Play the music I've learned to love so well. Ice cream man, ring your chimes In the afternoon so fine. Ice cream man, upon my street I heard your truck today, it was a-neat, a-neat, a-neat. Ice cream man, upon my block now, Your chimes, they reel and rock. Now, ice cream man, upon my street Your little truck, you know, is a-neat, neat. And ice cream man, upon my block, I heard your chimes, I know they reel and they rock. Ice cream man, on my street, Your little truck, you know, is a-neat, a-neat, a-neat. Ice cream man, upon my block, Your chimes, your chimes, they reel and rock. Ice cream man, upon my street, You heard your truck today, it's neat, neat. Ice cream man, ring your chimes In the afternoon so fine. One more time... Ice cream man, ring your bell, Play the music I've learned to love. Ice cream man, ring your chime In the afternoon so fine.
