I would rather have DeMar Johnson....

I'm not that happy with our current pick up. Sure he can hussle... Ok, but damn is that now an asset for picking up a guy. I don't remember him being in anyone's defensive player of the year list. Maybe it's just me, but I would have rather seen someone like DeMar Johnson picked up. At least he brings some skills and at 6'9, can cover and play everything from the one to the three position. I just feel you need players who can do more than one thing on this team.

dermar johnson is a horribly inefficient offensive player.

he cant attack the hoop anymore, and he sure as heck cant D up any of the quicker 3s or 2s since the accident.

Bowen is a solid pick up.... minutes will be small at the 2 & 3 anyway with t-mac and jj get majority of the minutes... if he can hustle and grab rebounds like they say he can, he's a decent pick up.. it allow tracy to get rest on Defensive..... on another note, i feel horrible for BOKI

Yeah, my main concern is Boki. I was looking forward to seeing him get at least decent minutes this year, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen unless Bowen is going to spend most of the year on the injured list. Poor Boki, I hope I'm wrong about this because the man deserves a chance doesn't he? The only thing I can figure out is maybe he hasn't performed well in practice and they know more than we do.

I do remember CD being very high on this guy when he came out of college.
Now he probably has an occasion to get at a very low price.

Bokis time with the Rockets is probably over. I like the guy too, but I guess if he cant show JVG anything during practice then he is supposed to spend the rest of his time on the bench.

with all this being said; he still did a better job in the play-offs than tim thomas's whining ass. (the little minutes that he did play.)

Why is everyone so down on Boki's chances since Bowen?? Who the heck is Bowen? (of course I know who he is, but u get my point) Is rockets that stupid to give up on a popular 1st round round pick that is/has been so lovable? The time and place is set for Boki to get in rotation or even break out since last year's playoffs.. We just read that JVG is supposedly giving him a big chance, and that Boki had played in every games of last year's playoffs show his progress already.
Bowen is good when we need him, much like Spoon style of last season. Probably even less PT.

Beacuse Johnson wouldn't be happy in the role available to him on this team. Bowen's picture is in the dictionary under the term "role-player"...

Demarr would probably been estatic to play for the Rockets and eventually grow into the 3rd or 4th option on the team. I think he would still be a solid pickup for you guys and might only need a minimum contract to secure him. He can back up T Mac which won't require to many minutes until he has made a full recovery from his injuries in term of getting his basketball game back.

Think about why no one is really taking a chance on him up till now though.. I mean, I dont know why, but just think about it. I think some teams did before, like Atlanta, NY, but we don't know reallly how the injury is affecting him.

Bowen was not brought in to take Boki's place. Bowen is a nice guy to have at the end of your bench and Boki is still going to get 1st shot at being the primary back up for TMac and Jackson. JVG has said multiple times now and at least once since Bowen was picked up.

DerMarr Johnson has little chance of recovering his dreams of NBA stardom. However, I'm glad he has recovered enough to try.

He now must relegate himself to the all-stretcher team:

    PG -- Jay Williams
    SG -- DerMarr Johnson
    SF -- Grant Hill
PF -- LaPhonso Ellis (help me here)
    C -- Ralph Sampson

Honorary Mention: Len Bias, Sarunas M.

Maybe he's afraid Posey won't be able to go off on us as he did last year so he wanted to see DJ instead of a defensive player.

Len Bias, huh? Seeing as how the guy didn't even play in the league, I think it's strange that you'd consider him for your "all-stretcher" team. The dude overdosed...he didn't get injured.
