i wonder how mo feels about being second best. i mean, he's a freakin BACKUP plan, we only sign him if we dont get webber, and if we do get him, good bye to mo. he's just sittin at home waiting for word... ------------------
It probably sucks for him, but he agrees with it. He knows that the NBA is a business and I even remember him saying that he would do the same thing a while back. ------------------ "I would like to live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were ever supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever." -Miss Alabama in the 1994 Miss Universe contest
The Rockets weren't the first choice of Taylor last summer, so why should he get that courtesy from the Rockets this summer? Mango ------------------ Get it right or just don't do it! Resistance is futile....you will be assimilated. Start more Webber threads!
What a poor millionaire Mo Taylor is, I feel so bad for a guy that plays basketball for a living. I hear violins in the background for such a sad predicament Mo Taylor is in... ------------------ I refuse to use smiley's in my posts, you'll just have to figure out how serious I am on your own...
I hope the Rockets still can find a way to keep Mo after Webber joins the Rockets. He is an awesome offensive player and with the new zone defense he should be even better. He is not bad defensively and can obviously hit the open jumper to free up the lanes. ------------------
He probably feels like a slightly above average PF. He knows C-webb is twice the player that he will ever be and that he will never makes as much money as C-webb.
Signing Chris Webber will not be easy and Mo is a known commodity. If the Rockets are any kind of class operation (or even just good business people) they are in touch with Mo and his agent. One of Mo's pluses is that he genuinely enjoyed playing for the Rockets. ------------------ GATER
If Taylor could rebound the ball or play a lick of defense, the Rockets would have him as the #1 option. To make a long-term committment to a mediocre player like Taylor would just be foolish. All he can do is hit 18 footers. The guy is horrific defensively and one of the worst rebounding PF's in the NBA right now. I'm not so sure he's better than Kenny Thomas. I'd definitely rather have Robert Horry than Mo Taylor. ------------------ Get Cato out of there...
He's in the Carbird seat actually. Think about it. Once Webber decides not to come to Houston. Mo can sit back and call the shots. And if he gets to greedy, we could lose all the cap space they worked so hard to get. Yet, can we not sign him.... ------------------ humble, but hungry.
The same people tearing into Mo Taylor will be begging for him to come back, or will miss him if he signs somewhere else and we don't get Webber. ------------------ See the three, be the three.
If he gets greedy? This is pretty funny. MoMoney was asking for the max last offseason. I have no doubts he will ask for the max this offseason. Hopefully the Rocks won't offer him more than he is worth, considering he is light on the D and D rebounding. ------------------
Fantastic post, Cato=Bum! (Even better username ) If Mo was a solid rebounder, averaging around 8-9 a game, CWebber may not even be an option. But then again, if Mo could put up those #s, Mo may not be a Rocket, either. KT is as effective as Mo, and I'd feel just as comfortable with KT in the starting lineup. Sorry, RocksMill, gotta disagree. I was completely indifferent when Mo signed last year, and I'll be completely indifferent if he re-signs elsewhere. I guarantee! ------------------
I can agree with that. Horry is a pretty good defender and has a decent outside shot, although maybe not quite as good as Mo T. ------------------ burp
I'm a big Mo fan, and would love to see him stay with the Rockets. He's not just an above average offensive player ... he's fantastic offensively. The Rockets just use him in the first quarter, though. He'd jump out to 8-12 points in the first quarter, and you never really hear much from him again. I'm not quite sure why his number only really gets called in the 1st quarter. I don't have a problem with his defense. He could stand to grab more rebounds, and at least hustle more to get position under the basket for a rebound. ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
Mo is above average on the offensive end. He's absolutely not terrible on defense. I'm wondering why people say that. But yes, his rebounding does SUCK big time! ------------------ Technically speaking, we're #1! ~Portland fans
