U2 are one of my favourites and are certainly timeless, Bruce Springsteen's new cd also proves his timelessness.

Midnight Oil are a great Aussie Timeless Band

The Proclaimers are a great timeless band, dudes still look and sound the same!!!

    Matchbox Twenty

*waits to get laughed out of the thread*

No, they probably aren't timeless to the general music listening public, but in my heart they will always be timeless. I honestly can say that I don't think I could ever love a CD as much as I do their debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You.

To many people, mb20 are just a simple pop band with a knack for writing hit songs (that a lot of people dont like), and thats fine, but to me they are so much more. I can't think of another CD that I've ever listened to with the regularity that I do to YOSLY, and I dont expect anyone else to understand the connection I have with the CD or the band, but I wonder if I would have made it through school without this CD. Anytime I felt down and out or just frustrated with life and I felt like nothing was going right, I could pop in this CD and it would give me a lift.

I'm sure people will dis me for calling mb20 my favorite band or even liking them, but just think of the connection you have with your favorite band and CD and then you'll know why I feel the way I do about the band.

I like many bands but I would have to say these are around the top (in no particular order):

    Smashing Pumpkins
    Radiohead
    Nine Inch Nails
    Kraftwerk
    Joy Division/New Order
    Delerium/Front Line Assembly
    Massive Attack
    The Clash
    Sepultura

Er, that is all for now.

Asking Manny to name one band is like asking Mobley to quit jackin up shots.....aint gonna happen! :D

Needless to say, I normally can't either..

    Van Halen (early stuff)
    Iron Maiden (of course)
These are both timeless to me, I'll probably still be listening to them when I'm 75..The only headbanging granpa in the nursing home..

    Timeless?

    Hmmmm....

    Pop:

    Prince
    Michael Jackson
    Madonna

    Rock/Blues:

    Clapton
    Rush
    U2
    Metallica
    R.E.M

I guess one could make a case for Aerosmith, although I am not fond of their music (at least nothing after Sweet Emotion and Dream On)

    One one one?

If only one I would have to go with Nine inch nails.

    Timeless? I think so.

"The Rising" is an incredible CD, I usually don't listen to this type of music. I can't stop listening to this CD though... :)

GNR will always be timeless to me. :D

Sure they are timeless. Unfortunately they never amassed quite the following of a DMB (another great band BTW).

    Artist: Sarah McLachlan
I just got the Mirrorball DVD, and it is awesome. She has soooo many great songs and the voice of an angel. She has a wide range of styles and can play several instruments as well. Certainly timeless, for starting the Lillith Fair if nothing else.

When I think of timeless I say to myself, "will anyone be listening to these guys in 50 or more years?"

    The Beatles.
