i will be seeing yao at the interNASHional shootout in vancouver this friday (16th). it's team canada vs team china. i'm not sure if todd-mac or jamaal magloire will be playing for canada, it would be great to see yao vs an nba calibre center...but reports are saying that they aren't playin in the world tournament...but this is exhibition, so i'm not sure (steve nash said he'll for sure play in this one). Ming will be there and so will I...with my new camcorder that i bought today. poor scheduling on my part means that i can only catch the 1st half...but i will try and get some nice clips of yao in action posted the by the next morning. i might even be able to get a pre-game interview (i got some connections).

i'll see what i can do.

    p.s...this is post 69!!!

Thanks. I'm sure everyone would appreciate that. In know I will. :)

Remember, if Yao doesn't play, say he had 30points, 15 rebounds, and 5 blocks, ok. ;)

3814! I'm close to Vancouver and I really want to catch the exhibition game, could you give me details? Isn't the Chinese national team doing an exhibition the 14th, tomorrow?

Respond here or drop me an email.

Congrats on the 69. Oh yeah.

It would appear the game is friday the 16th, not the 23rd. However, on the 14th, there's this:

    Steve's InterNASHional Shootout Party

    When: Aug. 14, 2002 @ 7pm
Where: Shark Club Bar and Grill in Vancouver
Meet and Greet both Team Canada and Team China
    Raffle for NBA Autographed Merchandise
Tickets are $10 which includes a cocktail and can be bought at the Shark Club.
Proceeds to benefit The Steve Nash Youth League

I wonder if Ming will actually be there?

I heard on FoxNews that the Chinese Team will be arrriving in Vancouver at Noon Central Standard Time. A normal direct flight from Beijing to Vancouver takes approximately 10 hours. There is a very strong possibility that Yao will attend this function because it says Team China will be there and it is for charity, so I don't see why not!

Example Flight from Travelocity.com between Beijing, China & Vancouver British Columbia:

    Air China Flight:Wed, Aug 14
2:55pm Depart - Beijing, China (PEK) Air China Intl 991
10:00am Arrive - Vancouver, BC, Canada (YVR)

Is 10 AM Vancouver time equal to Noon Central Standard Time?

Team China leaves for their flight to North America in one hour and 45 minutes. It is 1:10 pm now in Beijing. The flight time for that itinerary says 14:55 on AirChina which is 2:55. Yao & his teammates arrive in Vancouver BC on flight AirChina #991 at 10 AM local time, which puts it at Noon Houston time.

I didn't know what people to choose...so i ended up sittin on my butt all morning. i was either gonna go see team china arrive or i was gonna go see britney spears who is in town with her younger sister for some commercial. it had to be the toughest decision of my life...and i ended up doing neither...oh well, the days still young.
