This is disgraceful!! What are the refs doing? Did they read the script or are they drunk? How dare they go away from the script and allow Shaq to get into foul trouble? How dare they call 3...count them, ONE, TWO, THREE straight fouls on KOBE BRYANT!!!! How dare does NBC show how Iverson is getting fouled and not getting the calls? WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE DOING? I will writing a letter of complaint. I will be in the office of the CEO of my job at the stupid ad agency and scream to bloody hell that the refs, NBC and the NBA have to either stick to the script or don't show the damn telecast. Don't these asses know that allowing Philly to have a chance to win game 2 will bring down our ad revenue? Don't they know that the Lakers can't be denied? Don't these people know that ALL CALLS GO IN FAVOR OF THE LAKERS NO MATTER WHAT? Doesn't NBC know that showing how the Lakers are getting away with some calls IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE DONE!!! Damn!! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AROUND HERE!!! ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
Not to worry, Almu. The chicken s*** officials won't give him #6 even if Shaq breaks someones arm! ------------------ GATER
I am gonna puke. The Mechanic Ball Controller must be asleep at the wheel because the damn free throws for Philly are not going in. Damn it. ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
Ok. The Lakers won. But, lets take a vote right here right now... If Kobe and Iverson have a fight, who would win? I see this as a wipeout. Iverson would throw so many bees at Kobe that it won't be even close. Those haymakers will be hitting their mark like Olajuwon fadeaways back in the day. Seriously. Iverson wanted to smack him, right? Hee Hee Hee! Lets see what up in Philly, tongue wagging, Jordan wannabe. ------------------ Sleepless in the Bronx
It's a great sign for Philly when Kobe and Shaq have incredible games and Philly only loses b/c of FT shooting. Ahhhh... how sweet the wait til Sunday would have been had the Sixers gone up 2-0. ------------------ girl you looks good won't you mock that draft up?!
Kobe would calmly pick Iverson up, walk over to a goal, and stuff his scrawny ass halfway through a hoop. ------------------ The season's over, but the 'Stros have started. Guess I'm still gonna be nursing that keg...
Sixer fans, such whiners. It really sums up their all-star Allen Iverson he's on the NBA all-whine team you know. Garnett, Wallace, Payton, and all of the other whiners are there too. Suck it up, the Lakers just played POORLY in Game 1. Now when the Sixers play POORLY in Game 2, you blame the refs. Smart move. Stupid Marv Albert talks about Shaq's FT shooting being imporant down the stretch and it was ALLEN IVERSON who really messed it up. You noticed they shut up about Shaq's FTs after Iverson choked. I think you should write a letter of complaint to Allen Iverson for choking at the line. www.geocities.com/miller_reggie01/miller_with_no_ball08.jpg Iverson makes Reggie proud. Iverson would win, no doubt. Kobe is too much of a pretty boy. He'd probably go hide behind Shaq...or maybe Phil, then Phil would use some of his zen power on Iverson to sway him away. ------------------ Now saw off...there's nothing to see here.
Not to worry, Almu. The chicken s*** officials won't give him #6 even if Shaq breaks someones arm! That sounded pretty serious to me. ------------------
There are lots of players officials would be hesitant to call a 6th foul on, and that includes Iverson. Superstars get breaks with 5 fouls; that is part of the game. It can get frustrating if you're on the opposing side, but you have to deal with it. And saying the refs wouldn't call a 6th on Shaq is a far cry from anyone blaming the loss on the refs. ------------------ President of the Mo Taylor and Jason Collier fan club! The reason they won is because of three things Shaq playing like he has never played before, Kobe having his usual playoff performance, and Iverson choking. I don't think the Sixers have the mental advantage because the Lakers know if Shaq didn't get 5 fouls, they would of won the game by a much greater margin. ------------------
I don't think the Sixers have the mental advantage because the Lakers know if Shaq didn't get 5 fouls, they would of won the game by a much greater margin. The Lakers don't know any such thing. It could've happened, but it didn't. The argument for the Sixers having the edge is going by facts and execution-- for the Lakers it's by speculation. Typically, I feel mentally more confident when I actually do something than when I didn't but possibly could have if a certain scenario hadn't occurred. Also, lay off the people here. No one is not giving Shaq and Kobe credit for a good game. Everyone knows Iverson didn't step up as much as he needed to. And those are some of the primary factors in the loss-- no one is denying that. People here don't think the refs bailed out the Lakers tonight... they won a game fair and square. Until someone denies that and actually says the Sixers would've won if not for the refs, please stop with those comments. ------------------ President of the Mo Taylor and Jason Collier fan club! If you look at my name, you would tell why I don't like the Sixers supporters so much....I mean that's like a Utah fan coming on here and posting. ------------------
The way I see it, the Sixers played as bad as they possibly could, and still only lost the game in the final few minutes. This just proves that LA is not capable of dominating the Sixers. I think Philly will be the first team to go 3-0 at home, because the Lakers have shown me F**k-all. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death." If Iverson chokes, then the Sixers lose by 20+. Plain and simple - no one else can step up on that team and score like he does. As it was, they lost, but that was all they had for tonight. But if someone like Raja Bell makes their FTs (why was he even there 6 times?), then the game is much closer. Not real much you can blame on Ivy. Shaq had a killer game, though. Kobe is still overrated but at least living up to some of the hype. ------------------
No, the Sixers did no lose by 20+ points, but instead, kept it a very close game. Iverson missed 4 freethrows in final quater and had a very poor shooting night, Iverson choked! The whole loss is because of Iverson not being able to execute and knock down ft in the end. Iverson knows that he himself is the one to blame for the loss. ------------------ [This message has been edited by SaFe (edited June 09, 2001).]
