I was interviewed last night at the Nuggets game by a Chinese reporter.

    I was in the game last night and I was wearing my red Yao Ming jersey and this cute chinese girl with a microphone and another man wth a camera started talking to me in chinese. She noticed that I'm surprised and had no idean what she was talking and she finally asked me, "Do you speak chinese?", I said no but these 5 men beside me they've been talking in chinese. She said that she wanted to interview a Yao fan about Yao's decision to go ahead with the surgery. So I asked her, "Don't you want to get inputs from a non-chinese asian?". Then she called the cameraman to action.

    Basically what I said about it was it's purely Yao's decision, what he thinks is his priority. I told her that I still believe in the team and we can still win big games. It's on Yao, whether he wants to be a part of an NBA champion team or play for his country which we know already of the outcome.

    She asked, so what's the outcome. I told her, USA wins the gold.

    She left me.

    You really think Yao playing for us in the playoffs is a viable option? That would be stupid of him. We're talking about a potentially career-threatening injury. You don't play around with that.

    Truth is: U.S. won't win the Olympics basketball championship. U.S. successfully lost to many teams in Olympics, including 73:92 loss to Puerto Rico.

    wait she came upto you and started speaking in Chinese and asked if you spoke chinese just because you were around chinese? Yet you say you are not asian? Something not kosher in your story. I would assume you are an asian albeit one who doesn't speak chinese thats why she did what she did. And everyone knows USA is favorite to win Gold and I don't think anyone even expects China to even medal in the Olympics, so I am not sure she would care if you said USA wins gold.

    He said he was a non chinese asian. This is very possible. No reason to call him on it.

    The Rockets were lucky to find the problem very early. If he had played on it for a few more weeks, it would have gotten much worse.

    First, they don't even think about the gold. If you have been following the news, their ultimate goal is to medal a bronze. They know they don't have a shot for the gold. So the last part of your story sound so made up. With the huge number of fans of Kobe, Iverson, Lebron James, etc, in China, they will pull for their idols to win the Gold. So the best outcome for the Chinese will be USA win the Gold, whoever wins the silver and their Chinese team will play out of their mind to win a bronze. That will be what they hope for. So the last part of your story sound so made up.

    Such players like Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Chris Paul will be coming off the Bench.

    They should just give them the gold, give argentina the silver, and let everyone else play for the bronze.
