Just wanted to give everyone a shout out about Cooder Graw performing at The League City Village Fair this weekend. So if everyone wants to bring their eggs....errrrrr......cameras, we all can sing along to Cooder's greatest hit!:D

boomboom, this is an event the wife and I look forward to every year. It's the best party around. Unfortunately, my wife has a Girl Scout camp out that night, so I will be going alone this year.

I highly recommend every make the drive down to League City for this event. If you plan on being there Saturday night, drop me an email at behad@yahoo.com and maybe we can get together and have a beer.

Are there rides at this event? I think I went to this a few years ago and I used to go when I was a kid.

I would go see Jerry Jeff and then split before Booger Slaw hit the stage.

Jerry Jeff Walker was there last year, and back this year by popular demand. His show is always a lot of fun. There's plenty to do to avoid Booger Slaw and still have a good time.

And yes, there is a carnival with rides there, or as I like to call them...vomit makers.

Is The Rockefeller still around in Houston? Post-divorce, I had my first date there in 1992 with the daughter of some friends of my parents. We saw Jerry Jeff Walker...

It's called Rockefeller Hall now. It's a private hall that you can rent out for various functions like wedding receptions, etc.

I wouldn't necessarily call the rides vomit makers....but some of the carnies running the show definitely fit the bill!!

I ended up going on Friday night...my daughter saw the rides and went haywire. An interesting event....Saturday's events would probably have been better to go to...but nonetheless, a nice something to do. They definitely should have renamed it the League City Funnel Cake Festival. Every single food trailer there had funnel cakes.

Behad....did you make it out? I couldn't remember when you said you were going. I kept looking for someone that looked like Wayne Dolcefino!:D

I never miss it. We were there Friday and Saturday nights. Only the hardcore made it Saturday. it was a giant mudhole.

Got some pictures of Jerry Jeff Walker after the show. He acted like an *******. He was on his way to New Orleans, and apparently he was driving himself there. Some friends of ours bought his guitar in the silent auction earlier that day, and they wanted to get his picture holding the guitar. He was a dick about it, saying "I can't do that, I don't have the guitar. How can you take a picture if I don't have the f****** guitar?"

It was right behind him, his handler had it.

So he gets the guitar, I take the pictures, he then says he has to go, let him out of here. As he was getting into his Ford Explorer, my friend, who just spent $1100 on his guitar, yells at him "What's the matter, you're not big enough to have someone drive you anymore?"

Big laughs for everyone on that one.

Overall, it was a great time. We always enjoy ourselves there.

On Friday...were you in white shirt and black shorts? I was trying to remember what you looked like from the Allison pics in Kemah.

It was pretty fun until it started raining. I'm glad we went...my wife and I were scheduled to go eat Black Eyed Pea until my daughter convinced us we should go.
