I am thinking about recording NBA All-Star 2013 weekend since it's in Houston because I want to watch good memories again in the future. I don't have DVR and my VCR is old and not working, but what other way can I record? The only way to record is DVR and VCR? I heard DVR is expensive.

I am not really skilled in recording. Let me know what I can do...

    Thanks

Get a hand-held recorder and point it at the TV

TreeRollins ruined it for everyone. if it weren't for your advice, we might have been able to convince OP to stand in front of the TV with his phone's camera the entire game.

This is illegal though. I'm pretty sure OP is of high moral value.

you can probably get another vcr on ebay or something for like $5 these days. then you can probably get another one for like a nickel in 40 years when you want to watch it again.

$5? I am still seeing $100+ on ebay. I guess VCR is still useful in today's world.

    My advice:

    1. Go to Houston Zoo
    2. Go to the Elephant section (Not a euphemism for obese people, I mean the actual mammal)
    3. Sit on a pile of elephant poo and have the biggest **** eating grin the world has seen. Don't forget to take photograph with kodak instant flash you can buy at chevron.
    4. Update your thread and upload photo of yourself sitting on a pile of elephant poo with the biggest **** eating grin the world has ever seen...

You could get a dvd recorder for about $100. If you have cable, you can get your cable box switched to a dvr for around $10 a month with most cable plans. Considering you have to have cable/dish to watch the game on TNT on the TV, that would be the easiest option if you can afford it.

Otherwise it might play on TNT Overtime

There may be a program that would let you record from there.

Yes, but you have to have a professional technical to upgrade to dvr on satellite? Is it expensive for installation?

And also, I really don't need DVR because I just want to record All-Star weekend only. I am not interested to record another TV shows, thus I don't need DVR. The All-Star weekend is only what it matters to me.

 DUDES. He wants to record a game. ON A VTR. Help the dude.

    Here you go, young man.
http://houston.craigslist.org/ele/3579232857.html DVD/VCR get it NOW. $20  Seems like a good deal to me. There are others if you just search in Craigslist. Cheap.

Just like with anything else you buy from someone selling in Craigslist, make sure you test it and it records properly before paying for it, meet in a public place, etc. Be safe.
